The Book Of Boba Fett: The 10 Best Side Characters, Ranked
Warning: This article contains spoilers for The Book Of Boba Fett
After eliminating Bib Fortuna with the assistance of Fennec Shand at the end of The Mandalorian season 2, Boba Fett took the throne at Jabba's Palace, becoming the new Daimyo of Mos Espa. Unlike his predecessors, Boba Fett wanted to rule with respect, rather than fear.
Throughout his rise to power, Boba Fett made many allies and enemies from Tatooine and beyond, many of which became significant characters in the show. These side characters are ranked by their usefulness, uniqueness, likability, story significance, and fan reception, and have now become even more important within the wider Star Wars universe.
10 Garsa Fwip
Owner of the Sanctuary, a popular cantina in Tatooine's Mos Espa, Garsa Fwip was a Twi'lek who was one of the first people Boba Fett made connections with as Daimyo. She quickly accepted Boba Fett as Mos Espa's Daimyo and trusted Sanctuary with his authority.
When the Hutt Twins came to Mos Espa to challenge Boba Fett's right to rule, Fwip stayed loyal to Boba Fett and stood by his rule. This character trait is rare throughout Star Wars, as most characters are easily bribed by fear or credits - but she believes in Boba Fett. Furthermore, when a disgruntled Krrsantan starts a fight in her cantina, she talks to him about his past in an attempt to calm him down, demonstrating her kindness and power... although this failed.
9 The Modifier
After Fennec Shand gets left for dead by rookie bounty hunter Toro Calican in The Mandalorian, fans see how her life is saved in episode 4 of The Book Of Boba Fett. Along his travels across Tatooine, Boba Fett noticed Din Djarin's flash charge in the distance, and comes across the injured Fennec, bringing her to a rather unique 'doctor' known as The Modifier.
Played by the musician Thundercat, The Modifier uses cybernetic technology to heal Fennec's wounds. Importantly, seeing the Modifier enhance Fennec's body with cybernetics is a significant development in the Star Wars franchise, as cyborgs have often been seen to be bad, such as the fact that Darth Vader's cyborg features are one of the saddest things about him. To see cyborgs in a cool, futuristic, and positive way is refreshing and needed, and reflects well on the world today.
8 The Street Gang
Carrying on with the cool-cyborg theme, the motorcycle-riding Street Gang is a group of young adults who lost their jobs after Bib Fortuna was killed and Mos Espa's economy collapsed. Feeling sorry for them, Boba Fett hires them to work for him.
These characters are purposefully designed to look cool, and sport lots of cybernetic upgrades to enhance their bodies and abilities. They represent a fresh new look at the youth in Star Wars and real life, highlighting their body changes in a positive and exciting way. Furthermore, the group gets around Tatooine using motorcycle-inspired speeder bikes, which massively come in handy.
7 The Mayor's Majordomo
Early on in The Book Of Boba Fett, when Boba Fett takes his throne, important figures in Mos Espa pay him a visit to greet him and give him a tribute. However, the mayor of Mos Espa, Mok Shaiz, sent his Twi'lek Majordomo instead. Tensions run high, as rather than bringing Boba a tribute, he actually demands one for the mayor.
After being forced to leave Boba's Palace, the Mayor's Majordomo continues to be troublesome. He represented the side of Mos Espa who simply don't accept Boba Fett as their Daimyo and often got into brawls with Boba Fett's crew. His suspicious and mysterious nature kept fans entertained and continuously questioning the Mayor's true motives, becoming one of the show's most interesting and engaging plot points - and one of the Star Wars shows' best rivalries so far.
6 The Pyke Syndicate
One of the show's most prominent and terrifying villains, the Pyke Syndicate is a group of Pykes who slowly expanded across Mos Espa and other Tatooine territories to try and take over. They were one of Boba Fett's biggest threats, and constantly tormented a group of Tuskan Raiders that Boba Fett had joined.
Despite defeating them multiple times, the Pyke Syndicate grew stronger and larger every time they were seen in the show. They were a constant threat to Boba Fett's rule and created incredibly tense moments and battles that had fans on the edge of their seats. The Pyke's level of power was unmatched on Tatooine, to the point that Boba Fett had to build an army to defend against them. The Pyke Syndicate were even able to hire one of the galaxy's most feared bounty hunters, Cad Bane, to assist them - marking his live-action debut.
5 Tuskan Warrior
Upon being captured by the Tuskan Raiders, Boba Fett tries to escape and is quickly defeated by an unnamed female Tuskan Warrior. However, after Boba proves himself and joins the group, the Tuskan Warrior who previously captured him now trains him.
The Book Of Boba Fett does an incredible job at humanizing the Tuskan Raiders and helping the fans understand them better. They accept Boba Fett into the group, and audiences get to learn about their fears, way of life, humanity, and fighting style. Boba is taught their fighting technique and holds newfound respect and loyalty for the Raiders. Throughout the show, he continues to live with the morals and techniques taught to him by the Tuskan Raiders, showing how his character has changed from a dark, hardened bounty hunter to a respectable leader.
4 Krrsantan
Hired by the Hutt Twins, Krrsantan is a Wookie bounty hunter who was sent to assassinate Boba Fett so the Hutts could claim Mos Espa. Krrsantan has had a long Star Wars history, facing off against Obi-Wan Kenobi and even being hired by Darth Vader, however, he now works for Boba Fett.
Krrsantan and Boba have both worked together previously in the Star Wars comics, however, they don't seem to have any previous relationship in the show. Despite this, the powerful warrior Wookie held loyalty and respect for Boba Fett, becoming one of his best fighters and protectors. Krrsantan was a fan-favorite character from the comics, so fans are over the moon with his live-action debut.
3 Luke Skywalker
After his epic return in the season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, fans saw Luke Skywalker in The Book Of Boba Fett, where he has been training Grogu to become a Jedi.
Luke Skywalker is one of Star Wars' biggest characters, so seeing him again is a delight for all fans. Furthermore, his presence comes with plenty of Star Wars easter eggs and set-ups, such as the Jedi Temple seen in the sequel trilogy, so his triumphant return is not only surreal but incredibly exciting for fans, and gave a hefty taste of what's to come.
2 The Mandalorian
Din Djarin himself returns to help assist Boba Fett's forces in the war against the Pyke Syndicate and wields the Dark Saber in all its glory.
Mando's return was brilliant for fans to see what he had been getting up to since giving Grogu to Luke Skywalker. Although some fans could argue his return and the epic reveals should have been saved for The Mandolorian season 3, it was undeniably awesome to see Mando again. It was also great to get his reunion with Grogu.
1 Fennec Shand
Boba Fett's partner in crime, Fennec Shand helped him from the very beginning, from stealing back Slave 1 from Jabba's Palace to fighting side by side in the war against the Pykes.
Throughout the show Shand is loyal to Fett, respecting his leadership and helping him in his rise to power and his rule over Mos Espa. She consistently protects Fett, even at his most vulnerable moments, and has become a very significant and lovable fan-favorite character in the Star Wars franchise, rising through the ranks of the rough criminal underworld to become partners with Mos Espa's infamous Daimyo, Boba Fett.
