Pokémon Legends: Arceus - Traces Of A Lost Village Request Guide
Request 82: "Traces of a Lost Village" is a quest in Pokémon Legends: Arceus that tasks Trainers with journeying to the Alabaster Icelands to investigate the remains of a bygone settlement. Mani, a member of the Ginkgo Guild in Jubilife, believes that the player might find traces of his ancestors' village along the Avalanche Slopes within the wintry region. During this mission, Trainers will need to face Froslass, an Ice and Ghost-type Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
To unlock Request 82 in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the player must first acquire the Hisuain Braviary Mount during the main campaign quest, "The Slumbering Lord of the Tundra. To reach this point in the story, Trainers must attain Star Rank 5 and then speak to Commander Kamado and Captain Cyllene about the frenzied Noble Pokémon of the Alabaster Icelands. The mission is quite lengthy, including several battles and an entire puzzle section within the Snowpoint Temple. Yet, once players defeat Sabi and prove their strength to Braviary, the giant bird will yield itself as a Pokémon Ride. Once the Mount is unlocked, players can speak with Mani in the Basement of the Galaxy Hall to begin Request 82, "Traces of a Lost Village."
After starting the quest, head to the Alabaster Icelands in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and travel to the large valley north of Avalance Slopes, west of Arena's Approach. At the site, Trainers will encounter two passive Snorunt huddled together. Once they spot the player, they will scamper away one at a time. During this cutscene, the Trainer will approach to see what the Snorunt were so interested in, which turns out to be an old Torn Journal. After reading through the diary's pages, the quest will direct players to travel to a slope nearby. Be wary of the wild Glalie Pokémon along the way. It is recommended Trainers use a Smoke Bomb or Stealth Spray if they wish to avoid any optional battles.
After reaching the next spot in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the Snorunt will once again squeal and flee from the player. However, a hostile Froslass will appear this time to battle the Trainer. Players are advised to refrain from using Normal-Type Pokémon like Snorlax in this battle and instead use Fire or Dark-type Pokemon like Hisuian Arcanine or Overqwil. A Fire and Steel-type Heatran would also be an excellent matchup choice.
Defeat the Froslass to receive an Old Journal. Next, Trainers can return to Jubilife Village and present their findings to Mani. Mani will praise the player for their efforts, rewarding them with a Dawn Stone, an evolution item for evolving Kirlia into Gallade and Snorunt into Froslass.
