Pokémon Go: How To Complete Valentine's Day 2022 Collection Challenge

0

The Pokémon Go Valentine's Day event has its own Collection Challenge for trainers to clear. Collection Challenges were added to the game as the big new update for 2021. With this, every time there's a new Collection Challenge, trainers are tasked with capturing them before the event is over. If they are able to successfully do this, they'll receive valuable in-game items like Revives, Potions, and even Lure Modules. For the Valentine's Day event, there are not only one but two Collection challenges to clear.

The Valentine's Pokémon Go event is active from Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, February 14, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time. For the first time, it's possible for trainers to find and capture the Fairy-type Pokémon, Flabebe. It's initially made its debut in Pokémon X and Y and has been a popular choice for Fairy-type trainers. There's also a new Heart Trim Furfrou haircut available for those looking to obtain every Furfrou form in the game.

If trainers go into their 'Today' tab, they'll find everything they'll need to collect. Fortunately, the required Pokémon for this challenge are appearing in the wild more frequently. The Pokémon Go Valentine's Day Collection Challenge is broken up into two pieces. Normally, these would unlock one after another but for this event, they can be completed at the same time. This is what's required to clear out both Collection Challenges.

  • Capture a Luvdisc: Appears in the wild.
  • Capture a Woobat: Appears in the wild.
  • Capture a Plusle: Appears in the wild.
  • Capture a Volbeat: Appears in the wild.
  • Rewards: 2000 XP, 2000 Stardust, and a male Frillish encounter.
  • Capture a Luvdisc: Appears in the wild.
  • Capture a Furfrou: Appears in the wild.
  • Capture a Minun: Appears in the wild.
  • Capture an Illumise: Appears in the wild.
  • Rewards: 2000 XP, 2000 Stardust, and a female Frillish encounter.

Since these count as separate challenges, trainers will be rewarded with two different medals instead of just one like the other events. These medals will stack for every completed Collection Challenge in the game. While there's no real reward for earning these medals, it's a pleasant trophy for players to take a look at every once in a while. Once the event comes to an end, all the challenges and rewards will be removed from the gaming. February is going to be a massive month for Pokémon Go with the upcoming Johto Tour. This ticketed event will happen at the end of the month and will give trainers the chance to find every Shiny Pokémon in the Johto region. Until then, claim every Valentine's Day reward as it's available.
