Arrowverse Gotham Knights Show First Look Image Reveals Logo

0

Executive producer/director Danny Cannon unveils the first look at the Arrowverse's Gotham Knights show by revealing the logo for the pilot. The new installment in the CW's DC Comics franchise is set in the titular metropolitan city in which Bruce Wayne has been murdered and leaves his rebellious adopted son to forge an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman's enemies after they are framed for Bruce's murder. The group of mismatched fugitives will have to band together to become the new saviors of their hometown known as the Gotham Knights.

Development on Gotham Knights was previously reported in late 2021 as The CW got in the early stages of putting the potential Arrowverse series together with Natalie Abrams, James Stoteraux and Chad Fiveash all set to executive produce. Earlier this month, the network elected to press on with the project by picking it up for a pilot with Abrams set to write, Cannon attached to direct and executive produce and Arrowverse leader Greg Berlanti also executive producing. The CW clearly sees the promise in Gotham Knights as the pilot is picking up steam fast.

On the heels of the show landing a pilot order from The CW, Danny Cannon took to Instagram to share the first look at the Arrowverse's Gotham Knights show. The ongoing development of the Arrowverse's Gotham Knights show comes at an interesting moment for both the titular team itself and the universe they're rooted in. Warner Bros. Games Montréal is currently at work developing a Gotham Knights video game with a similar narrative setup in which former Batman proteges band together to fight crime in the titular city following the apparent deaths of the Dark Knight and Police Commissioner Jim Gordon. Additionally, Warner Bros. Television has multiple Gotham-set shows on the air, including the Gotham prequel Pennyworth, HBO Max's Titans and The CW's Batwoman, though it has been confirmed Gotham Knights will not be a spin-off of the latter series, despite its Arrowverse setting.

Regardless of the large volume of Gotham-based projects currently on the air, The CW appears to have confidence in Gotham Knights. While pilot production season is currently underway for all networks, the quick turnaround for the new Arrowverse series from initial development to an April production start should come as a promising sign for the new project's potential. Only time will tell what audiences can expect from Gotham Knights as filming kicks off in April.
