[Baseball] Oden Snags KCAC Hitter of the Week Honors

WICHITA, Kan. — After an outstanding weekend helping the Falcons to a sweep of William Woods, senior Pablo Oden was named KCAC Hitter of the Week, the league office announced Monday (Feb. 14).

"Our entire coaching staff is proud of Pablo," head coach Adam Neisius said. "All the effort he puts in off the field has equated to great results on the field. "Very well deserved honor for him."

Oden went 4-for-9 at the plate in the series with four RBIs, two homers, and a slugging percentage of 1.111. His first blast came in the third inning of game two, sending it over the left-field wall to put the Falcons on top 5-1. Oden followed that with a two-run shot in game three.

A native of Hollywood, Fla., Oden leads the Falcons and is tied for first in the KCAC with five home runs. He also leads the team with 12 RBIs, a mark that puts him 3rd in the conference.

The Falcons are back in action on Tuesday (Feb. 15) for a single game against Central Christian College. Friends will go on the road this weekend for a three-game series against No. 14th-ranked USAO in Chickasha, Okla.
