WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University senior Kortney Schutt continues her stay atop the league with her third consecutive KCAC Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award, the conference office announced today (Feb. 14). Senior Isaac Campbell was also been named the league's top men's indoor field athlete for this week.
Schutt kept up her torrid pace with a podium finish in the weight throw at this past weekend's Indoor Gorilla Classic.
The Wichita native was the top NAIA finisher and hit the NAIA "A" standard with a mark that is tops in the KCAC and second in the NAIA.
Campbell continued to shine in the field events, coming in ninth and hitting the NAIA "A" standard in the shot put this past weekend at the Indoor Gorilla Classic.
A Sedan, Kan. native, Campbell finished ninth overall in the event with a throw of 16.11m that was first among NAIA competitors and ranks second in the KCAC and 12th in the NAIA.
Schutt and Campbell are set to help the Falcons defend their KCAC indoor titles this weekend (Feb. 19) on the campus of Wichita State University.
