I’m a cleaning expert and my six dishwasher hacks will keep your dishes squeaky clean
ONE CLEANING expert has shared her useful dishwasher tips for removing caked-on stains and making sure you always get squeaky clean results.
Caroline, known as @neat.caroline on social media, shared the six tips to try next time you run your dishwasher.
USE RINSE AID
The expert suggested squeezing a few drops of Rinse Aid into your load before running it.
By using only three drops, she said this product will help for more effective cleaning.
VINEGAR TO REMOVE STAINS
If you deal with hard water stains on your dishes, she recommended using vinegar to help remove them.
Vinegar is a must-have ingredient for cleaning – all you need to do is pour it into a cup and leave it on the top rack of the washer while running your load.
She said to still use detergent and run the washer on a normal cycle.
The vinegar will work quickly and effectively to dissolve any of the hard water stains.

Caroline claimed you’ve probably been using way too much detergent when running your dishwasher.

MIX UP SILVERWARE
On the top rack of your dishwasher, you should be mixing up the order of your silverware to ensure they get properly cleaned.
Take it from the expert, who said that nesting them in like groups will be less effective when cleaning.
Instead, she recommended mixing up the layout of your knives, forks, and spoons to let the soapy water rinse each and every piece.
RUN HOT WATER
Next, Caroline suggested briefly running hot water in the sink before starting your dishwasher.
By warming up the water through the sink, she said you are allowing the dishwasher cycle to immediately start running using hot water.
In the colder months, she said this is very important to do especially with older dishwasher models.
ECO/AIR DRY SETTING
Finally, the expert said to make sure your dishwasher settings are on either eco or air dry mode.
She said this will help you save both water and energy while you take the easy way out of washing your dishes.
To get rid of even the most stubborn food on your dishes, one cleaning expert said to throw a ball of aluminum foil in with the dishes to help break down dirt.
