Disney's Encanto went above and beyond, providing the comedy that's predominant in the genre, along with a touching lesson about family, and memorable songs like the popular, "We Don't Talk About Bruno."
Since the movie's release, fans have celebrated the Madrigal family with fun videos, heartfelt stories about how they relate to the characters, and plenty of memes. Although the majority of these memes are funny, there are some thought-provoking ones that pull at the heartstrings and truly capture the essence of the message of Encanto.
Luisa gained popularity with the audience mostly because of the song "Surface Pressure," which revealed how pressured she truly felt under the weight of the responsibility that came with her gift of immense strength. Many viewers who identified with this pressure spoke of how being the eldest daughter in the family was a huge responsibility and that the song touched them because it relayed exactly how they felt.
Although Luisa was actually a middle child, the meme shared of her holding up a building is captioned as a representation of the weight that eldest daughters carry because of their position in the family. The song and the character have essentially become an acknowledgment of everything first-borns have to bear and a show of appreciation for them not buckling under the weight.
When the movie began, Bruno wasn't part of the family anymore. Mirabel was surprised to discover he never left their home and had spent years living in the walls of the house. The meme perfectly represents this, similar to when Mirabel asked him why he'd left but still stuck around.

This was another thing that showed how much Bruno truly loved his family, despite how they saw him as mischievous and a bad luck omen. Although the movie was mainly about Mirabel and her struggle to fit in with her extraordinary family, viewers fell in love with the other characters in Encanto and their unique personalities as well. Louisa was a favorite for many first-born daughters because of "Surface Pressure," while Camilo appealed to others because of his playfulness and how he used his gift of shapeshifting to make others smile.

Before Bruno's actual appearance in the movie, all the audience knew about him was based on what the family told Mirabel. This included Camilo's iconic line "7-foot frame, rats along his back..." which everyone questioned once they saw Bruno, who was far from 7-feet tall.
