Jake from State Farm is an instantly recognizable figure, but where does he appear in Tall Girl 2? New director Emily Ting's Tall Girl 2 continues the story of Jodi Kreyman (Ava Michelle), the titular "tall girl" as she takes on the challenges accompanying her newfound popularity, love, and star role in the year's high school musical. The man in question is played by Kevin Miles, who is best known for his recurring role as Jake from State Farm in the insurance company's advertisements. The second Jake from State Farm to exist since the original ad's inception in 2011, Miles' version of the character has been in circulation since 2020 following the company's decision to bring back their famous ad campaign. Although now synonymous with the state Farm Brand, Miles has also held small roles in the popular CBS shows S.W.A.T and Criminal Minds, making his cameo in Emily Ting's Tall Girl 2 slightly less surprising.
The original Jake from State Farm ad was created in 2011, with the character helping a married man with an insurance claim over the phone at 3 am. An irate wife, who believes she has caught her partner being unfaithful, grabs the phone and demands to know what Jake is wearing, resulting in his iconic response of "Uh, khakis." This hilarious commercial has spawned countless memes and made the original Jake State Farm's most recognizable asset for a time due to the fact the man that portrayed him, Jake Stone, was a real insurance agent at the company.
