Born on November 17, 1944, Lorne Michaels is a television screenwriter and producer.
Michaels has kept his personal life out of the public eye for the most part.
Even his birthplace is unknown – some have it listed as Ontario, while others say his parents immigrated to Canada after he was born in what was once considered Palestine.
In 1966, Michaels graduated as an English major from University College, Toronto.
Michaels began working as a writer and broadcaster for CBC Radio before moving to Los Angeles.
He went on to start writing for various programs, including Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In and The Beautiful Phyllis Diller Show.
He earned his United States citizenship in 1987 and was inducted into the Order of Canada in 2002.
