[Men's Indoor Track & Field] Bearcats Take on the DePauw Invitational
The Brescia men's track & field team competed at the Depauw Indoor Invitational on February 12, placing 10th.
In the 60m hurdle finals, Mason Aschenbrenner (SR/Ottumwa, IA) won the event with a time of 8.57 seconds. Talon Hutto (SO/Floyds Knobs, IN) also competed in the finals, placing eighth with a time of 9.29 seconds.
In the 60m prelims, Talon Hutto led the Bearcats with a time of 7.45 seconds. Mason and Colby Aschenbrenner (SO/Ottumwa, IA) finished back to back, running times of 7.63 and 7.66 seconds. Andrew Parker (SR/Louisville, KY) also ran the 60m dash, sprinting a time of 8.33 seconds.
Hutto also led the Bearcats in the 200m dash, finishing in 24.52 seconds. Joseph Tapia (JR/Owensboro, KY) finished the race in 27.32 seconds. John Brink (SO/Owensboro, KY) won his heat of the 200m with a time of 27.44 seconds. Reese Haight (SO/Utica, KY) completed the race in 28.14 seconds.
Benjamin Brown (JR/Memphis, MI) led the team in the 400m dash, running 59.10 seconds. Brink and Tapia also ran the event, running 1:01.31 and 1:03.00, respectively.
Talon Hutto and James Barrow (JR/Elizabethtown, KY) ran the 800m, running 2:1947 and 2:27.65, respectively.
In the mile, James Barrow ran 5:38.16 and placed 15th.
Wes Wheatley (JR/Hawesville, KY) and Draven Stewart (SO/Leitchfield, KY) competed in the 3000m, running 11:42.76 and 12:35.08, respectively.
In long jump, Banjamin Brown led the team with a jump of 5.38m. Talon Hutto also competed, jumping 5.12m. Joseph Tapia jumped 4.81m. John Brink jumped 4.07m.
In shot put, Andrew Parker threw 12.09m, followed by Jessee Wood (FR/Sacramento, KY) who threw 8.15m. The duo also competed in weight throw, with both athletes throwing new personal record in the event. Parker threw 14.33m and Wood threw 8.81m.
The Bearcats will be back in action on February 19th for the River States Conference Championship.
