Lydia Plath of Welcome to Plathville says Jesus has her heart this Valentine's Day. 18-year-old Lydia grew up in a conservative family where she wasn't allowed technology, sugar, or outside friends. Lydia is known as the family equalizer, as she often tries her best to stay out of the ongoing drama. Welcome to Plathville season 3 showed Lydia growing up right before viewers' eyes as she formed a crush on a boy. Instead of being able to text him like most teens her age, she was told to cut all ties.
Lydia has often turned to her religion for solace during tough times, following the example of her parents, Kim and Barry Plath. Viewers know Lydia is devoted to the practice, especially after seeing her prayer closet. However, a recent revelation left a few of Lydia's followers wondering if she needs to expand her circle of friends.
Lydia gave a shout-out to her best Valentine's Day date ever with a religious meme in her Instagram Story. The affirmation shared with followers that the TLC star needs no one but her savior to be happy. Viewers couldn't help but wonder if Kim and Barry are still refusing to let Lydia date boys her own age. Luckily, Lydia also shared some pictures of a Valentine's celebration with friends. She snapped a few photos of the dessert table, which was covered in strawberries and chocolate. Lydia also smiled with a few close girlfriends while sporting a sweet red ensemble. She was also spotted wearing a ring on her left hand, which could mean she pledged her purity.
Lydia has been seen out and about more with friends her own age, even if most of the functions have been church gatherings. Lydia's two Valentine's Day updates show that while she's growing up and attending parties, her religion still remains important to her. It is nice for Lydia to have faith, but it would also be good to see Kim and Barry ease up a little bit when it comes to dating.
While there has yet to be a confirmation of Welcome to Plathville season 4, viewers are hoping Lydia returns to the small screen soon. Though they're enjoying her social media posts, Lydia often gives more insight into her feelings on the show itself. It would be interesting to see how she's coping with her parents' rules and if she has any desire to go against them like her older siblings. Hopefully, more information about a potential new season of the TLC series is revealed soon.
