1000-Lb Sisters: Why Tammy Could Have A Prolonged Stay In Rehab

0

Star of 1000-lb Sisters, Tammy Slaton, has viewers thinking she may not be getting out of the rehab facility any time soon. Tammy has been spending time in the facility after she was hospitalized towards the end of the year. The future looks bleak for Tammy if she doesn't decide to turn her lifestyle around.

The fact that Tammy is often denounced by viewers isn't new. The TLC star's lack of commitment or care for herself has left an overall bad taste in people's mouths. Tammy has failed to lose enough weight to qualify her for gastric bypass surgery for three seasons. Instead of working on her issues, Tammy often explodes on those closest to her, including her siblings. She fails to hold herself accountable for her misdoings and is now paying the price by having to live in a rehab facility. What Tammy believed might be a short stay is now turning into a more permanent change.

1000-lb Sisters viewers will recall that Tammy entered the rehab facility back in November of 2021. Now, months later, the reality star is still living in the hospital as those around her try to figure out a lifestyle plan. Tammy has still been active on TikTok, but the videos have shown she still remains in the facility with a tracheostomy tube inserted in her neck. Supporters are starting to feel there is a slim chance Tammy will be discharged. Even though she claims she wants to better herself, little to no effort is made on her part.

Multiple risk factors could have the doctors keeping Tammy in longer than she'd like. For many, that amount of time is more than enough to jumpstart a patient onto the right track, but Tammy keeps getting derailed. Tammy's battle with pneumonia and her carbon monoxide poisoning has also made her body weaker, allowing for possible other issues to arise. 1000-lb Sisters viewers learned this season that Tammy is at extremely high risk for being bed-bound the rest of her life. If Tammy were to become bed-bound, she would be more likely to develop blood clots and bedsores.

There are so many variables against Tammy currently it is hard to see her ever leaving the rehab facility. It makes sense to deduce that the longer Tammy stays held up in her bed, the harder it will be for her to walk out of the facility eventually. For now, there haven't been any official updates on Tammy's health. The most recent post from the 1000-lb Sisters star is a video showing she gave herself the rap name "Lil Kitty."
