Trevor Wood hopes his thrillers will help combat ignorance towards those without homes
I WAS out in Newcastle city centre late one cold, dark night with a friend, an ex-police officer. As we passed a woman sitting in a doorway in a sleeping bag I paused, dug out a couple of quid and dropped it in the small tin by her feet. When my friend joked I might as well just give her spice - the notorious drug that's cut a swathe through homeless populations - I was surprised how different our perceptions were.
