Frankie Muniz Imagines Grown Up Agent Cody Banks' Life In Funny Post

0

Agent Cody Banks actor Frankie Muniz takes to the internet to imagine what an adult Cody may look like today. Muniz first played the role of Agent Banks back in 2003. Agent Cody Banks tells the story of a teenager who is recruited by the government to undergo spy training, in order to participate in missions more suited to younger agents. The film co-starred Hilary Duff and was helmed by Harold Zwart. While not necessarily a critical success, the movie certainly struck a chord with fans, and many children of the early 2000s grew up wanting to be secret agents thanks to Agent Banks.

Since the film's release, Muniz has had a relatively successful career, though perhaps not quite as big as some may have thought back in the early 2000s. Muniz was perhaps most well known at the time as the titular character on the hit series Malcolm in the MiddleSince then, he has had appearances in Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London, Criminal Minds (in which he played a serial killer), and even two Sharknado movies. More often than not, the actor makes appearances in films playing himself.

In a recent tweet, Muniz reminisces about playing Agent Banks, and ponders where the character would be today. He begins by stating how awesome it was that he got to play the character nearly 20 years ago, going on to wonder if "36 year old Cody Banks is sitting in bed eating Fritos while shaking his gut, thinking, 'I really let myself go.'" Perhaps this is not where all fans would like to see the character 20 years later, but it does seem a reasonable possibility, as Muniz poses the question "what do you do after you saved the world twice at 16?" See his full tweet below:

Muniz doesn't stop there, however, posting a second tweet which poses a scenario in which the reader is in trouble and in need of saving. Muniz suggests that it is not any superhero who comes to save them, but that same 36-year-old Banks, who has a "dad bod" and "pulled a muscle putting on his shoes." It is perhaps somewhat of a depressing image, but certainly in line with the humor of the original Agent Cody Banks films.

Despite the two tweets obviously coming from Muniz taking a poke at his own life, the response on Twitter has been quite positive. It seems there are many Agent Cody Banks fans still out there who would be thrilled to see the character return as an adult. While many Twitter users have expressed their enjoyment of Muniz's proposed premise, others have suggested their own, including one where they follow Banks' children, in which he witnesses shifty behavior on his kids' school trip to NASA, as well as one where he has twins who are also secret agents. The love for Agent Cody Banks is obviously still alive, and perhaps one day, if fans are loud enough, the agent may return again.
