Celebrity Big Brother: Teddi Mellencamp Bribes IG Followers For AFP Votes
Teddi Mellencamp is out of the running to win Celebrity Big Brother season 3 but is still trying to garner votes to be this season's America's Favorite Player by bribing her followers with Instagram giveaways. Some fans questioned how Teddi earned a spot on the celebrity cast considering she was fired from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for being too boring. But being booted from Beverly Hills hasn't stopped Teddi from sustaining a large following on Instagram. She has many loyal clients who continue to use her accountability business All In, which offers questionable diet and fitness advice.
The accountability coach immediately made a foe out of fellow Celebrity Big Brother houseguest Miesha Tate. Being an MMA fighter, Miesha was able to use her physicality to win the first Head of Household competition of season 3. During week 1, Miesha set her sights on getting Teddi out of the house and successfully backdoored her target back to Beverly Hills. Fans critical of the casting choice were elated when Teddi was the first boot of the season. Unlike regular seasons of Big Brother, the famous houseguests get to go home to their lives and phones post-eviction until finale night when they're invited back to vote on who will win the Celebrity Big Brother crown. With the Internet at their fingertips again, the evicted celebrities also have a unique opportunity to campaign for America's Favorite Player, an honor voted on by Big Brother viewers.
After being voted out in week 1 and having little impact on the season as a whole, Teddi is still trying to find a way to become America's Favorite Player. The former Celebrity Big Brother houseguest took to Instagram to offer her 1 million followers a chance to win a workout machine in exchange for their America's Favorite Player votes. Teddi captioned her post, "Who wants to win my fave workout machine, the @clmbr_official?! Just follow @clmbr_official, send me a DM w/ screenshot as proof, and like & comment ✅ on this post. I’ll be walking into the #BBCeleb finale ready to work some stuff out and one of you will be getting a badass workout. And if you want to vote me as #favehouseguest text TEDDI to 21523 #backdoored *you can vote once a day from now until Wednesday. Climber winner will be selected on Wednesday. Good luck!"
Fans called out the former star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for using her Instagram platform to game the system. America's Favorite Player is usually awarded to the houseguest who won over the hearts of the audience by being both entertaining and strategic. While it is normal for the famous houseguests to use social media to inform their fans to vote, Teddi's bribery tactics to become America's Favorite Player are a first, even for the celebrity edition. When called out in the comments of her Instagram post for not playing with integrity and cheating the vote, Teddi fired back. "Am I lying or doing it behind anyone's back? Nope. I am still playing the game and ultimately hooking up one of my Instagram followers with something cool that I have access to give away." Longtime Big Brother fans are calling her efforts to get votes unethical and cheap.
It's not surprising that Teddi, who runs a questionable business, is using unethical tactics to become America's Favorite Player. Even if Teddi's efforts aren't officially deemed as cheating, it goes against the spirit of the game. But no matter how many workout machines she gives away on Instagram, it is unlikely that Teddi will gain enough support to be crowned America's Favorite Player for Celebrity Big Brother season 3.
