Naomi Characters Ranked From Least To Most Likely To Win The Hunger Games
In the CW's Naomi series, it only took a handful of episodes to establish that Naomi and her friends are up for a little adventure. The group regularly puts themselves in dangerous situations, like breaking into Zumbado's car lot to steal an item he took from Naomi. Though they might be afraid, they seem to relish the chance to do something that takes them out of their comfort zone and allows them to help a friend.
They likely wouldn't relish the dubious honor of competing in the arena of The Hunger Games in that other universe, but they would likely be better equipped than some of the tributes in Katniss Everdeen's story. The question isn't whether Naomi and her friends could compete, but whether any of them could win the games at all.
7 Anthony
Anthony is very smart and a very sweet friend to Naomi. He's by her side and willing to help with just about any problem she has. That attitude toward someone he admires means that Anthony would likely be able to form an alliance pretty easily if given the chance.
Anthony, however, isn't particularly athletic or a proven fighter, which might make other tributes see him as a weaker competitor. Depending on the field of tributes, they might leave him alone, knowing they could go after him later, or he might be an early target to lower the number of combatants. If Anthony wanted to get past the opening of the games at all, he would likely have to prove himself to someone before the games even started, forming an alliance with someone while the tributes were still being rated by the judges.
6 Jacob
Jacob is clearly one of the smartest characters in the series. He doesn't bat an eye when Naomi talks to him about unknown languages, computer algorithms, or aliens, and is able to come up with possible solutions to anything she throws at him. He could probably do well in the games if given the chance to hide out and analyze the arena.
Jacob is the character most likely to use the technology, like the cameras and the forcefields, employed by the game-makers to his advantage. He would let the arena do the work for him. That could potentially allow him to make it to the end. The trouble would come if he was in the arena with someone he cared about. For example, he's been dating Annabelle for years at the time the series picks up. He would sacrifice himself to keep her alive in a heartbeat.
5 Esme
Early in the first season, the audience hasn't had the chance to know Esme well just yet. What they do know about her is that she's ambitious, running for a leadership position in the student government, and that most of her classmates disagree with her ideas.
Based on that, Esme is someone who would work incredibly hard to prepare for the games. She wouldn't want to go in without being proficient in a weapon or two, giving her a better chance of survival. She also would likely attempt to network before the games started, but she likely wouldn't see too many people wanting to ally with her because they would see through her ambitions and know she'd have to betray them eventually. Esme would persevere thanks to her determination, but a stronger, or more creative, tribute would get her before she could make it to the end.
4 Lourdes
Lourdes has already proven herself a survivor in Naomi's world. Dropping out of school to take care of her father, still attempting to get her GED, and working a full time job keeps her very busy. She still has time to help Naomi with her search for an alien disc and drop plenty of comic book knowledge on her friends though. Lourdes is also one of the first people to climb the fence into Zumbado's car lot, heading straight toward danger.
She wouldn't shy away from the fight of the games, but she also wouldn't seek out competition, which would help her make it much longer than the impulsive tributes who run for supplies when the games open. Lourdes, being both creative and personable, would also likely be able to form alliances early. She would only lose the game if one of the people she allied with turned on her first.
3 Nathan
Of Naomi's friends, Nathan is easily the most athletic, hoping for a scholarship from his soccer playing to get him into college. He would have slightly better endurance than the rest of the group, able to keep going and put some distance between himself and the other tributes pretty easily. He's also shown he isn't particularly afraid of conflict in the series, though he's yet to be violent with anyone, so his fighting skills haven't been put to the test.
Nathan, however, is easily the most competitive person in Naomi's friend group. He doesn't like Anthony simply because Naomi is friendly with him - and he knows about Anthony's crush on her. Nathan would likely allow his competitive spirit to get the better of him in the later stages of the games, and he'd be overconfident in his abilities. Someone would get to him just when he believed he would be victorious.
2 Annabelle
Annabelle might not seem tough at first glance, but her "ride or ride" mentality when it comes to her friends shows how determined she is. Annabelle doesn't stray far from her comic book counterpart. No matter how strange she finds Naomi's questions or decisions, Annabelle is there to support her and help her. It's Annabelle who is resourceful enough to know who to direct Naomi's questions to, or who to ask for help.
Annabelle is also the most logical of the group of friends, knowing when structures seem unsound, or when a situation calls for running instead of confrontation. The logical head on her shoulders would prevail and get her pretty far in the Hunger Games, though it's hard to say if she'd be willing to take someone else's life to end up the last one standing.
1 Naomi
If Naomi had control of her powers and was able to use them in the arena, she would have the biggest advantage against the competition. Considering the books and movies of the Hunger Games franchise establish that there are cameras everywhere, even with powers, she wouldn't be able to use them, wanting to keep them a secret.
Naomi is the most likely of her show's cast to make a good impression on the audience of the games though. Naomi is the most well liked of her classmates, a natural leader, and someone adults regularly trust. She would easily capture the attention of the audience and form alliances. The help she would receive from sponsors would certainly keep her in the games for a long time. Her determination might just help her win.
