King Shark Unlocks His Most Bloodthirsty Form as A DC Vampire

Warning! Spoilers for DC vs. Vampires #5 by DC Comics

In a world where vampires are taking over the DC Universe, the bloodthirsty monsters just gained a powerful new ally in King Shark. In a new preview for DC vs. Vampires by DC Comics, the Suicide Squad prepares to fight against the growing amount of vampires but soon learns that one of their strongest members is turned into an even more bloodthirsty creature.

King Shark has taken a few different forms since joining the DC Universe in Superboy #0 by Karl Kesel and Tom Grummett. Originally, Nanaue, the son of the Shark God, initially appeared as a great white shark with a humanoid body. However, during The New 52 era, King Shark was given a new hammerhead form. In live-action, the murder-loving creature has kept the great white shark-esque look in both The Flash and, most recently, in The Suicide Squad, where Sylvester Stallone voiced him. King Shark's adventures with Task Force X will also be featured in the upcoming Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League video game, where he'll be one of four playable characters.

Two vampire attacks are revealed in a new preview of DC vs. Vampires #5 by James Tynion IV, Matthew Rosenberg, Simone Di Meo, and Otto Schmidt. The first features Task Force X storming a warehouse, only to find bloody, cold bodies. Meanwhile, Batman and the Green Arrow are included among the heroes taking on their former allies. Batman hits Superman with a kryptonite blast stored in one of the cavities of his teeth after the Man of Steel tells him they have no way of winning.

Back with Task Force X, Harley says the dead bodies in the warehouse are much grosser than the Joker's usual work, with Deadshot noting someone drank all of their blood. As they figure out how to proceed next, an overly excited Black Spider is eaten alive by vampire King Shark. However, they quickly learn there are more vampires in their midst than initially believed. Amanda Waller might have sent the group into their deadliest mission ever, as the Suicide Squad might not survive the battle.

The fact King Shark has turned into perhaps the most bloodthirstiest vampire is terrible news for the rest of the DC Universe. Stopping him was already difficult enough, before. Readers can see King Shark cause havoc in his new vampire form when DC vs. Vampires #5 by James Tynion IV, Matthew Rosenberg, Otto Schmidt, and Simone Di Meo arrives in comic book stores on Tuesday.
