How To Solve the Long Coast Ruin in Horizon Forbidden West
The seventh Relic Ruin is located in The Long Coast in Horizon Forbidden West, and completing the challenge involves solving a few puzzles.
The seventh Relic Ruin in Horizon Forbidden West is located in The Long Coast, and there are a few steps to completing it. Players will need to move a few crates and find a way to get them into the main room in order to reach the top of the ruins and collect the Ornament. The Long Coast Ruin can be found near the northern border of The Raintrance. Being able to ignite Firegleam in Horizon Forbidden West is required to complete this Relic Ruin.
Along with The Bill Ornament, players can find a variety of loot within the ruins. Completing the Relic Ruin challenge in The Long Coast will help players earn the Recovered 5 Different Collectables trophy and the Completed 3 Relic Ruins trophy. Additionally, completing all of the Relic Ruins in Horizon Forbidden West and collecting the Ornaments will give players the ability to change the Las Vegas lights and unlock the Legendary Shredder Gauntlet called Ancestor's Return.
As soon as players enter the Relic Ruin in The Long Coast, they will see an elevator in front of them that requires an Energy Cell to operate. Facing away from the elevator, players should be able to spot a staircase that leads to the required Energy Cell. Aloy will need to deliver the Energy Cell to the empty socket in the elevator within a few seconds, or it will lose its charge. Pulling the Energy Cell out and immediately running it down the stairs should give players enough time to place it in the socket before the charge depletes. The Ornament is located above the elevator on the top floor of the tower.
The vent cover inside the elevator can be pulled down, but Horizon Forbidden West's Aloy won't be able to reach it until she has something to stand on. From the elevator, players can go through the doorway on the right to get to a larger theater area with a lever on the left side of the stage. The lever temporarily moves two climbing spots to the right side, but the change won't last long enough for Aloy to get where she needs to go. Instead, players will need to climb up and pull the lever from the other side using the Pullcaster. Aloy can climb up on the left and swing across to the right until dropping into a room with some Firegleam to destroy. There's also an Ancient Supply Box in this area that can be collected before dropping down.
Igniting the Firegleam will open up a spot to pull the lever using the Pullcaster skill in Horizon Forbidden West. Aloy can then jump up and reach the right side of the catwalk above the stage. Once players are up on the right side of the stage, they will find the first crate they need to reach the Ornament. At the other end of the platform with the crate, there's an Ancient Supply Box to collect. The crate needs to be pulled through the hole and onto the stage, then pushed off the edge into the water below. After pulling it out of the water, players can drag it into the elevator, then work on getting the second crate to reach the top of the tower. Players can start by climbing the outside of the tower on the right side of the elevator. There's a Greenshine Chunk that can be collected by using the Shieldwing to glide over to the nearby rooftop from the first ledge players reach while climbing up the tower.
Before leaving the top of the tower, players can go to the right corner to grab an Ancient Supply Box. From the highest point, Horizon Forbidden West's Aloy can walk onto one of the beams and use the Shieldwing to glide over the wall and into an area with stadium seating. The second crate can be seen a few rows down with an Ancient Supply Safe near it. At the top of the seating area, there's some Firegleam that can be ignited. After creating a hole in the wall, players can push the crate through and into the elevator. With both crates inside the elevator, players can push the button to go up to the second floor, then push one of the crates out. After returning the elevator to the ground floor, players can push the crate on the second floor on top of the elevator.
Players can now complete The Long Coast Ruin in Horizon Forbidden West. With the crates in position, players can go back into the elevator and send it up to the second floor. Next, players can use the crate inside to climb up through the vent hole, then use the second crate to reach the climbing points at the top of the elevator shaft. After reaching the top, players can jump to the room that holds The Bill Ornament. Along with the Ornament, players will be awarded 5,000 XP and two skill points for completing the Relic Ruin in The Long Coast. The Bill Ornament is one of many collectibles to locate in Horizon Forbidden West.
Horizon Forbidden West is available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
