Married at First Sight’s Chris Collette accuses ex Alyssa Ellman of wanting ’15 minutes of fame’ after she ‘didn’t try’
MARRIED at First Sight’s Chris Collette accused his ex-wife Alyssa Ellman of wanting “15 minutes of fame” after she “didn’t try” to make their marriage work.
Alyssa, 30, married stranger Chris, 35, on Married at First Sight before moving to end the union shortly after.
Chris spilled all of his heartbreak to his mom in a sneak peek from the show released exclusively to The Sun.
Teasing this week’s episode, the video clip shows Chris having a heart-to-heart with his mom, Florine, about his “sad and disappointing” divorce.
Chris said in a confessional: “Of all the people that I have to tell that I’m getting divorced, my mom is the hardest one.
“I don’t know if she looked forward to me getting married more than I did, but she certainly did longer than I have because she’s wanted me to get married since I was little.”
The recently-single realtor told his mom: “After the wedding, things kind of took a turn right away.”
The clip recapped Alyssa distancing herself from Chris immediately after their ceremony on their wedding night.

Alyssa has been concerned about how producers would portray her on the show
Therefore, she has been unwilling to discuss personal issues with Chris on-camera and was scared of accusations saying she was there for the “wrong reasons.”
While the couple was working things out in Puerto Rico, Chris said: “Every time we sat down to talk about the state of our relationship, she left the conversation.”
He elaborated: “‘Robbed’ is the word she keeps using because the experts didn’t give her the guy she wanted.”
Chris’ mom said: “She wanted her 15 minutes of fame.”
Chris replied, “Maybe,” and continued, “I feel robbed because no one was going to get the guy or girl they wanted. I just wanted someone who was willing to try.”
Back in his confessional, Chris spilled: “I’m pissed off about how this went. Every day I feel less and less like she tried.
“It’s hard for me to think that somebody can come into this process knowing everything that is expected of them and still claim that somehow it was worse for them than 50 other couples who have gone through this process.”
Chris said: “We still, faster than the history of anyone in this experiment, I think, are done.”
DECISION DAY
Previously on Married at First Sight, the couple decided if they were going to divorce.
While Chris was “impressed” by Alyssa and happy with the match, she complained over their different lifestyles.
The Sun revealed a clip of last week’s episode where Alyssa revealed she wanted to move forward with the marriage.
In the clip, expert Pastor Cal sat down with the couple to discuss the issues in their relationship.
Alyssa commented on their marriage: “I have tried to look for positives.”
Chris then responded: “The word I used over and over again was impressive. I always thought on paper we were compatible.”
Pastor Cal added: “We went through every possible document you guys prepared. We did compatibility charts. Believe it or not, you lined up.”
Despite Alyssa’s reluctance in the past, she shockingly revealed she wanted to move forward with the marriage.
She said: “I don’t like the way things are right now and I would like to see how we can look forward.”
Alyssa then turned to Chris and said: “I wanted to come here today because I don’t like the way things have been going and I don’t like how they got here. I’ve been in a better head space since I got home and I’m still working towards that. I’m getting to that space.
“My purpose of coming here today was to stop the pattern we were on and figure out how we can move forward.”
Chris responded: “For me, this is my decision day.”
WEDDING NIGHT DISASTER
On the night of the wedding, Alyssa refused to share a room with her husband because she felt their lifestyles didn’t match up after talking to his family and friends.
She told him: “I feel uncomfortable at this moment from some things that were said to me. I just really don’t want to get into it right now.
“Let’s wait until we can sleep on it, and get clear heads and have a little time to ourselves.”
HONEYMOON FROM HELL
On the honeymoon, she demanded a separate room and broke down often when doing activities together.
When it came to deciding if they should move into an apartment building with the other couples, Alyssa recommended they take turns living in the space.
The other couples noticed their lack of chemistry, as they believed the issue is Alyssa isn’t attracted to Chris.
NO ATTRACTION
In a previous sneak peek obtained by The Sun, Alyssa noted how important attraction is to her.
She said while getting ready for the wedding day: “Physical appearance and personality are super important. For me, there needs to be a physical attraction. I am hoping to walk down the aisle and be happy with what I see at the end of it. I hope he is too!”
Alyssa then read a letter from her soon-to-be husband, as she broke down in tears over the “nice” note.
She said after reading the thoughtful letter: “He’s so nice! I feel like he knew that’s what I wanted to hear. I’m glad I got a little insight about him before I get to walk down the aisle.
“I feel like he knows what I want to hear. It just feels good. The only thing I can think of is that I hope he thinks I’m cute and I hope I think he’s cute. Hopefully that’s the case.”
She later said Chris “isn’t her type.”
According to Alyssa’s bio, she rescues animals and believes the show is her “opportunity to find love.”
As for Chris, he learned he was “incompatible” with past girlfriends once the honeymoon phase ended and hopes the experts can find someone to keep his interest “long term.”
Married at First Sight airs on Wednesdays at 8/7c on Lifetime.
