Tammy Abraham ‘wants to return to Chelsea’ with £68m buy-back transfer clause to activate next summer
TAMMY ABRAHAM ‘hopes to return’ to his boyhood club Chelsea in the future, according to reports.
The 24-year-old joined Serie A outfit Roma in the summer for £34million, linking up with legendary Premier League boss Jose Mourinho.
And he has had a good season so far scoring 18 goals in 34 games.
But according to Corriere dello Sport, Abraham ‘hopes to return’ to Chelsea in the future.
Abraham might get his wish in over a years time with Chelsea’s £68m buy-back option becoming active.
The England international could be an ideal replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who is struggling to fit into boss Thomas Tuchel‘s system.
Lukaku managed just seven touches in the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace last weekend.
And as a result, Tuchel started the Belgian from the bench in Chelsea’s 2-0 Champions League knockout win against Lille to take the heat off his misfiring striker.

Tuchel said: “The focus was on intensity and a high-speed game today.
“Romelu struggled in the last games. That’s what I meant when I said he was tired.
“Not only physically but mentally.”
Kai Havertz was preferred to lead the line against the French champions and he did just that.
The German scored Chelsea’s opener in the seventh minute.
