Euphoria: 10 Best Scenes In Lexi's Play | ScreenRant

Lexi's play took the world of Euphoria by storm--in addition to the entire fanbase. Viewers everywhere couldn't contain themselves about the scandalous production, making TikTok analyses and hilarious memes in reaction to the show even as it was airing.

The enthusiastic response is for a good reason; Lexi's play, supposedly about "friendship," ended up being a sometimes brutal breakdown of the people in Lexi's life. Amid dance numbers and extravagant set designs, the show had some iconic scenes that fans couldn't get enough of.

10 The Turning Set From Lexi's Monologue

One of the things that was heavily meme'd about Lexi's show was the extensive production value of the set pieces. In no world does a high school theatre department have the budget to put together a brand new set for every scene of their play, complete with intricate details and moving parts.

That being said, the rotating set that acted as an extension of the high school hallway was a very impressive scene. Additionally, as Lexi walked along, the middle section pivoted into yet another mini set for a one-off line from one of Ethan's many roles in the show. It felt like something out of a Broadway-level production.

9 Kittenkween's Dancing Scene

It may have seemed out of place, especially considering the disturbing Cassie and Nate montage that was airing concurrently, but fans were excited to see the return of Kat's kittenkween persona--even if it did come out of nowhere.

One of the things that has made no sense in Euphoria season 2 has been Kat's drastic lack of scenes and story. Besides a Kat-centric plot being completely missing from the season, her online persona hasn't been addressed at all until Lexi's play, and fans were relieved to see her season 1 significance finally being acknowledged.

8 Lexi's Comparison To Cassie's Puberty

Lexi's monologue about puberty revealed a lot about the relationship that she has with her sister. Cassie and Lexi are very close in age, as Lexi reveals, but Cassie grew up a lot faster than Lexi did, and Lexi had a warped sense of self-confidence because of it.

Not to mention the fact that the audience got an inside look at Cassie's back-handed responses to Lexi opening up about the issue and the lack of support and closeness that Lexi feels with Cassie. Their entire lives, Lexi felt like Cassie was the main character and she was only a supporting role, but with this show, Lexi finally stepped into her main character energy.

7 Maddy & Cassie's Friendship

In season 1, Maddy and Cassie were already friends, so audiences didn't really get to see how their friendship was formed or how they bonded early on. Lexi's play shared that Maddy's parents began to argue so much that Maddy practically moved in with the Howards for a period of time.

This scene serves a few purposes. Firstly, it explains part of the reason that Maddy and Cassie are so close. They've experienced similar familial drama and supported each other through it. Secondly, it adds a layer to Cassie's betrayal of Maddy. They've seen each other through some of the hardest points in their lives and Cassie still did what she did, breaking Maddy's heart.

6 Lexi Dancing With Her Dad

Lexi may have dove deep into the personal affairs of those around her, but she also revealed sensitive information about her own past and upbringing. In a heartbreaking flashback, Lexi showed how confusing addiction can be by showing two vastly different scenarios with her father.

In one moment, Lexi tearfully feels pressured to let her incapacitated dad drive her home when she and Cassie are spending the day with him. A few scenes later the entire Howard family is dancing happily in the living room. Many people think it's easy to hate an addict because of the destruction they cause. The truth is that the difficult part for many people is that they love the addict, and have many happy memories with them.

5 Rue's Dad's Funeral

Rue and Lexi have one of the best non-romantic relationships on the show. Lexi was always much more aware of the role drugs played in Rue's life, especially in season 1 when she even let Rue use her pee for her mom's drug tests. This scene showed that Lexi was there when drugs first took their hold on Rue.

In the scene, Rue's character, "Jade," shares that the drugs she's doing were her dad's and she found them in his things. She doesn't even try to hide them from Lexi, which says a lot about how much she trusts her. When the camera pans to Rue's reaction, it's clear how much she's affected and this may even be the first time she's realizing how much that moment affected Lexi.

4 Maddy Does Lexi's Makeup

In addition to Maddy and Cassie's friendship being covered in the play, Lexi's relationship with Maddy was also featured. Fans know Cassie and Maddy have been best friends for a long time, but many may not have stopped to think about what Lexi's bond was like with her sister's bestie.

The two girls are doing some iconic eyeshadow looks, and as Maddy does Lexi's makeup in the scene, she talks about having confidence and feeling beautiful and how to "decide" to feel it. The interaction is a direct foil to the unsupportive scene between Lexi and her onstage sister. Maddy's softer side is revealed and Lexi shares that the two are closer than fans may have thought.

3 Rue & Lexi Bond On The Roof

A sweet and sad scene between Rue and Lexi takes place on a rooftop. Lexi is eating some ice cream and Rue climbs up to join her. Lexi tells the audience that it was before her dad left and "Jade's" dad passed-- and before she got into heavy drugs.

More heartbreakingly, though, is the revelation that Lexi shares next. She states that she used to be sure that "Jade" was her best friend, but now she doubts exactly how close they are. It speaks to how Rue's addiction has driven a wedge between her and Lexi, and how much she feels they've drifted apart.

2 The Origin Of Lexi's Bob Ross Costume

Regular Euphoria viewers finally get to witness the first--and only--time Lexi ever smoked weed. Funnily enough, she almost immediately fell asleep and Rue drew a beard on her face as she napped on Fez's couch. Fezco joked that she looked like Bob Ross.

Lexi may be one of the most stylish characters on the show, but she used comedy instead for her Halloween costume in season 1 and made an adorable callback to this moment with her friends by dressing up as Bob Ross. It was funny on its own, but this scene added a new layer to the joke.

1 "I Need A Hero"

One of the most talked-about scenes in the entire show was the dance number in the football team locker room to "I Need A Hero." The dance was highly controversial with both fans and Nate Jacobs, himself, who angrily muttered, "That's so homophobic," before storming out of the school and breaking up with Cassie.

Alternatively, many fans think the scene was supposed to be a statement on the homoerotic nature of hyper-masculine activities and the homophobic attitude that many of those same participants have. Controversy aside, everyone in the audience was raving about Ethan's performance. He gave the whole show his all and really got into it, making everyone cheer.
