GTA Trilogy Fixes Coming One Month After T2 CEO Called It Resolved

0

In a recent interview, Take-Two's CEO, Strauss Zelnick, claimed Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition's one glitch had been resolved; however, Rockstar Games just announced plans to deploy a patch packed with game fixes next week. Zelnick made the statement in question while speaking with CNBC about the issues plaguing GTA Trilogy across PC and consoles. The CEO's words confused many, particularly those well aware of the myriad problems that have affected the collection since its launch in November 2021.

From day one, the GTA Trilogy suffered from framerate drops, graphical hitches, and a wide array of gameplay-related bugs across all platforms. And, for a time, PC players who could only purchase the remasters through Rockstar's launcher found themselves unable to access their goods. While the studio has since fixed this particular error and more than one hundred others, players continue to encounter major errors. Earlier this year, for instance, GTA 3 users discovered an Achievement-blocking glitch. Others stumbled across a San Andreas bug that prevented them from popping wheelies on bicycles. Fortunately, Rockstar Games continues working towards improving upon the experience.

A little over a month after Strauss Zelnick claimed Rockstar Games had "resolved" the one glitch in GTA Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, the studio itself shared a Twitter post announcing plans to unleash brand-new patches sometime next week. These fixes, which presently remain unspecified, will go live across all platforms, according to the social media post. Apart from thanking players for their continued patience, the studio didn't note anything else in the tweet, which reads as follows:

While some may consider Rockstar's efforts too litle, too late, others will no doubt benefit from the upcoming fixes. GTA: Vice City joined PS Now this month, for instance, and will remain on the streaming service until May 2; as such, there are probably more than a fair few players looking forward to whatever changes Rockstar has in store.

The GTA Trilogy's so-called definitive edition launched late last year, packing in three classic Grand Theft Auto entries - GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas. Developed by port studio Grove Street Games, the remastered collection enhanced the graphical quality and gameplay of each title for modern audiences. Despite its bug-ridden launch, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently told investors the collection managed to exceed the publisher's internal sales expectations, as it managed to shift approximately 10 million units worldwide.
