Love Is Blind Season 2: The Worst Thing Each Cast Member Has Done
Love is Blind season 2 was just as juicy and salacious as the first. This second season of the hit reality show also ended with a few successful marriages and some surprising - and some not-so-surprising - rejections.
While fans can't wait for the reunion special to find out what has happened with the couples since the show was originally filmed, it's a good time to look back at the ten episodes. While there were some sweet and tender moments, each cast member also did some terrible things to others.
Mallory, who was in some ways like Kelly from Love Is Blind season 1's counterpart, was torn after revealing to Jarrette that she felt a deeper connection with Sal. She even went back to the house with the rest of the women and sobbed. When the two finally met in person, they had an intimate conversation that clearly made both Iyanna and Sal uncomfortable.
Mallory flirted with Jarrette, telling him that he was more like the type of guys she would normally date, even saying that she didn't have to marry Sal, a comment he overheard. She should have said a simple cordial hello, apologized again for what happened, congratulated him on his engagement, and left it at that.
Shake quickly came off badly to viewers, and the ladies in the pods, when he continuously asked questions with the intention of learning more about the women's physical appearance, namely their weight and body types. His shallowness and ego ended up making him the season's villain.
While engaged to Deepti, he expressed feelings to others about her that were hurtful, even saying that being with her was like hanging out with his aunt. In the end, she had the chance to reject him, to which he acted immaturely, further validating the decision. His words towards her were unkind, even if they were not intended to be.
Natalie, the Love is Blind season 2 cast member with most Instagram followers, came across very differently in person than she did in the pods. She was soft-spoken, sweet, and witty during the virtual discussions. However, in-person, she constantly insulted and joked around with Shayne in a way that he expressed on numerous occasions he did not like. In fact, it led to one of their first big fights.
She might have been doing it out of insecurity, or, as she noted, just simply because it's the way she expresses her love. However, if this is true, she did not reflect her true self in the pods, which wasn't fair to Shayne.
While he handled the situation with grace, even addressing her family after the rejection, Sal said no to marrying Mallory when they were at the altar, leaving her devastated. While she also seemed, in a small way, relieved, and the door was open for them to actually continue dating while figuring things out, it was one of the most shocking moments on the show.
Sal had presented himself as being deeply in love with Mallory from the get-go, so saying he could not go through with the wedding at the eleventh hour was a sad and shocking moment.
It's possible that Shaina did feel something for Kyle and thought maybe there was a chance. But it seemed as though she only accepted the proposal in hopes that she might be able to eventually kindle something with Shayne.
She seemingly led Kyle on only to abandon him in Mexico after saying she thought they should sleep in separate rooms. Back in Chicago, she still had him over to meet her family knowing full well they would not approve. Considering he gave her a family ring, she should never have accepted such a meaningful item in the first place. When Shaina gave Kyle back the ring, it marked one of the biggest fights in season 2 of Love is Blind.
While it's tough to know the entire story, it comes across as though Danielle always picked fights with Nick for no viable reason. He always seemed confused and while he mostly handles her rising emotions with calmness, he also lost his temper at one point, asking her if she thinks the world revolves around her.
It escalated to one of their biggest fights, but it seemed that Danielle, on numerous occasions, has picked fights with Nick when she could have taken the time to better analyze the situation first.
Love might actually be blind if Kyle proposed to Shaina knowing full well that there were deep issues between them that would likely get in the way of their relationship. What's more, it was clear that she had been connecting deeply with Shayne.
But the worst thing Kyle did was continue to pursue Shaina even after she left him high and dry in Mexico, and told him she wanted to sleep in separate rooms. He should have had more self-respect than that.
While specifics about what really happened the night before their wedding weren't revealed, Natalie did note that they got into a terrible fight. She mentioned that Shayne said some very hurtful things to her, including using the word "hate."
While she alluded to the fact that he might have had too much to drink that evening, it still doesn't excuse using such hurtful and angry words towards anyone, much less the person he was about to commit to spending the rest of his life with.
Danielle expressed that she was upset when, after talking about how happy she was that her family got along well with and really liked Nick, he was preoccupied with some of his own friend and family drama and didn't share in that joy with her.
The specifics of what had caused him to ignore her feelings were not given, except that he had some troubling things to deal with. Nonetheless, he accused Danielle of acting like the world revolved around her when she simply felt as though a deeply positive moment for her and for their relationship was minimized.
Iyanna didn't really do anything bad during the season, but if fans wanted to fault her for anything, it was accepting Jarrette's proposal after he admitted that he was likely going to propose to Mallory first if she had seemed amenable.
It all worked out in the end as Jarrette and Iyanna proved to be one of the most successful couples from the show. They complemented one another well and actually went through with a wedding. Nonetheless, fans felt Iyanna was initially getting the short end of the stick.
Jarrette did the right thing by revealing to Iyanna that he had a deep connection with Mallory as well. However, even after he proposed to Iyanna and they went to Mexico together, he still said things to Mallory that were not appropriate when the group all met in person.
He kept talking to her about how he could have been the guy, and how he would have chosen the right ring, essentially slighting Salvador. His mention of the ring was one of the biggest surprises in Love is Blind season 2. It was not only unfair to Sal but also to Iyanna.
Deepti quickly emerged as one of the most popular cast members on the show, even more so when she rejected Shake in the end, saying that she deserved more and decided to choose herself.
While she shouldn't be faulted for her feelings, fans believe she fell too hard, too fast for Shake. She didn't allow herself to spend more time with him to confirm if a connection was truly there beyond the one they forged in the pods. In the end, something was missing, and she ultimately made the right call.
