Seinfeld: 10 Best Love Interests, According To Reddit
The main characters on Seinfeld go on many dates each season and always find a problem that they think is too glaring to ignore. While Jerry, Elaine, and George claim to want to find love, they often act like they're afraid of commitment and sometimes walk away from a great person who could mean something to them.
While Kramer does date a lot on the sitcom as well, fans often focus on the relationships that Elaine, Jerry, and George have, as they tend to be the most dramatic, hilarious, and end the fastest. Reddit users are sharing their favorite love interests, from some of Jerry and George's best partners to a few people Elaine started relationships with who seemed promising.
10 Ellen
The Seinfeld couples split up for silly reasons, and fans know that Jerry often thinks that something is off with a new relationship and blames his new partner, even if everything is actually great.
Jerry and Ellen date in the season 8 episode "The Van Buren Boys" and Jerry struggles to see a reason to stop dating her. Reddit user quitepossiblylying mentioned that Jerry should stay with Ellen, writing, "When Jerry's parents said they liked her, he reasoned that there must be something wrong with her."
9 Susan
From Susan's strange death licking wedding invitation envelopes to her sometimes cold personality, there are a lot of negative things to say about Susan's character. But while some viewers don't love her very much, others think that she and George do have a nice relationship and that it's possible to root for them to stay together.
Reddit user bu_hao_ren posted that they "always liked Susan as a character," and Reddit user maythemetalbewithyou agreed, "I also liked Susan. I thought it was a good match."
8 Jenna
Jenna is an unforgettable love interest for Jerry as Jerry mistakenly throws her toothbrush in the toilet. When he doesn't tell her and she brushes her teeth and wants to kiss him, Jerry has no idea how to get past it.
Reddit user zestybiscuit thinks that Jenna and Jerry are a great couple because "the only reason to split up with her was purely accidental." Reddit user xnerdyxrealistx agreed, "They seemed like they had a pretty good relationship. The flaw was Jerry's germophobia." If this hadn't happened, would they have stayed together?
7 Karen
Between George's funny Seinfeld schemes, his up and down work life, and his many dates, this character can definitely seem like he's making mistakes left and right.
Reddit user ZirconEncrusted said that Karen "Was actually funny" and most likely "the best match for George." George becomes so worried about their sex life that it ruins their relationship, but if George was able to stay calmer, it's possible that this couple could have worked things out.
6 Marcy
Reddit user maythemetalbewithyou also likes "Marcy" who appears in the episode "The Yada Yada."
While there are some funny things about Marcy, most notably her habit of saying "yada yada yada" because she doesn't want to continue an entire story, she also steals, which makes her a difficult love interest for George long-term. Otherwise, Marcy and George seem better suited than some other relationships on the series as they at least get along fairly well.
5 Aaron
When replying in a thread about Elaine's best partners, Reddit user ToddGack said, "I'd probably go with the close-talker, Aaron."
Although Elaine becomes incredibly frustrated by Aaron talking right in people's faces, and he spends too much time with Jerry's parents, maybe there would be some way for Elaine to make it work. If Aaron didn't have this tendency, perhaps he and Elaine would have realized that they love spending time together, or perhaps Elaine and Aaron could have an awkward discussion about him letting go of this habit.
4 David Puddy
When thinking about Elaine's Seinfeld partners, Reddit user JakeYew said "maybe he indeed was her best boyfriend on the show" and added that Puddy is "Charming, good-looking with a solid outlook on life."
Puddy and Elaine have funny Seinfeld scenes, as they keep coming back to their relationship even though they both feel that there are some issues that they should work through.
3 Meryl
Based on how Jerry finds lots of problems in all of his new relationships, and he doesn't stay with people for very long, it seems tough to imagine him getting married. But when he falls for Meryl, the two tell people that they're actually married so they can save money at the dry cleaners. Many fans like this sweet relationship because they really seem to get each other.
Reddit user DefenderRyad said that when looking back on Jerry's partners, they would say Meryl is the best because of the funny moments when they order pancakes. The fan wrote, "Always loved Courtney Cox and the syrup."
2 Jake Jarmel
While Elaine makes some smart choices on Seinfeld, breaking up with someone because of an exclamation mark definitely seems harsh and intense.
Reddit user ciguanaba likes "Jake Jarmell" for Elaine, and without this punctuation issue, it does seem like the couple could end up together. Elaine is searching for someone who understands her and who shares her wit and intelligence, and being so picky could be a problem.
1 Joel Rifkin
No Seinfeld fan can forget when Elaine and Joel date and she realizes that his name is going to be a huge problem.
Reddit user zeze999 wrote that if not for Joel having the same name as a serial killer, it seems like Joel and Elaine could work out and even get married. The fan wrote, "She was so proud bragging with her coworkers how great he was" and because he would change his name, that "tells us how much he loved her."
