Gogglebox star quits fame for shocking new career change

GOGGLEBOX star Josh Tapper has well and truly left fame behind and is standing as a Labour Party candidate in the upcoming local elections.

The 24-year-old is hoping to be elected in Edgwarebury, where he grew up alongside his very famous family.

Josh landed an apprenticeship at no. 10[/caption]

Josh decided to swap the sofa for a career in politics back in 2017, when he took on an apprentiship at No.10.

He worked alongside then Prime Minister Theresa May and her cabinet.

Josh then joined the Civil Service but left in 2019 to join the cross-party think tank and research outfit Demos.

Speaking about his ambitions to be a future councillor, he told the Jewish News: “I’ve lived in Edgware all of my life.

“I go to synagogue in the ward and I understand the issues the community faces, like fixing potholes, boosting our economy, issues such as green spaces and local parks. These are really important to me.

“I will listen to the community and work with them to try to make things a little better.”

His sister Amy, who has remained in reality TV, couldn’t resist gushing about her brother.

She told her followers: “Very proud of my hardworking and dedicated brother. Hopefully the next councillor of our area!”

The Tapper family – parents Nikki and Jonathan and children Josh and Amy – appeared on the show since it started back in 2013.

In 2018, Amy shocked fans when she announced she was leaving to try and find love on Celebs Go Dating.
