The Eternals Are Using The Avengers To Kill Thanos For Good
The Eternals are making their way to Avengers headquarters, so they can gain valuable information in their quest to kill Thanos.
Warning! Spoilers for Eternals #10 by Marvel Comics
The Eternals have made their way to Avengers Mountain to gain vital information to kill Thanos. The ancient heroes have sent Sersi into the Earth's Mightiest Heroes Celestial Base to seek much-needed answers from the hollowed-out cosmic god. With Judgment Day coming soon, the Eternals are walking a fine line as their secret invasion could lead to losing the already fractured trust of the Avengers.
Thanos has overtaken Eternals society, as he was elected the Prime-Eternal after returning from assured death thanks to Phastos wanting to expose and stop the truth behind their resurrection protocols. With the core Eternals leaving their home and heading into Deviant territory, Thanos decimated Lemuria with an all-out assault searching for Phastos. The Mad Titan plans on using the Eternals architect to rebuild his body. With their backs against the wall, the Eternals made their way to Avengers Mountain, which is the hollowed-out body of a Celestial, as they believe their god can provide them the necessary answers to kill Thanos for good.
In a brand new preview for Eternals #10 by Kieron Gillen, Esad Ribic, Matthew Wilson, and VC's Clayton Cowles, the Eternals watch Sersi infiltrates Avengers Mountain in their quest to find answers about stopping and killing Thanos. Despite the Avengers questioning the reasoning for the Eternal's visit, Sersi captures the attention of Namor, as his lust allows her deeper inside the Celestial base. Meanwhile, the Eternals, including Sprite, Kingo, Makkari, and Ajak, watch and wait for the moment to strike.
Ajak tells Makkari that the deeper Sersi can get inside the Celestial base, the more they can retrieve the secret of the deviants from the dead god and "kill Thanos with it." However, Makkari stresses they need to be practical, saying they need to support Ikaris and Thena, currently stationed outside Avengers Mountain, and be ready as cavalry when needed.
Considering the Eternals infiltration of Avengers Mountain will set the events for Judgment Day, an all-out war between them, the X-Men, and the Avengers, it's likely their reconnaissance hits a snag. However, the mission for answers from the fallen Celestial was always going to be dangerous, and the Eternals are ready to fight for the info they need to kill Thanos. Will they be able to trick the Avengers into gaining the valuable intel required to take down Thanos for good? Readers will find out more when Eternals #10 by Marvel Comics arrives in comic book stores and digital retailers on Wednesday.
