No Way Home Official Art: New Look At Tom Holland's Red & Blue Spider-Man Suit

0

Fans can now have a closer look at Peter Parker's final red and blue suit at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home thanks to the release of its concept art. It's almost three months since the Jon Watts-directed blockbuster hit theaters, and now, Marvel Studios and Sony are focused on promoting its upcoming home and digital release. In light of that, more official content from the film is released, including several concept artworks for the flick.

Spider-Man: No Way Home was both a critical and commercial success. The film wraps up Spider-Man's first MCU trilogy starring Tom Holland. But, it also brought together all three eras of live-action versions of the wall-crawler with both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield revisiting their Marvel roles. In the end, however, they needed to return to their respective universes, while MCU Peter was left alone following Doctor Strange's (Benedict Cumberbatch) spell that stripped him off of his identity. That said, it allows him to continue being Spider-Man, with his anonymity back. And to mark this fresh start, he debuted a brighter, homemade suit.

The costume was only featured in Spider-Man: No Way Home in its final moments, so fans didn't really get to have a good look at it. Thankfully, now, Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development, Ryan Meinerding shares the concept art for Peter's brand new suit on his official Instagram. Check out the images below:

Aesthetically, the design of Peter's new suit mines inspiration from both Maguire and Garfield's respective costumes. It's a nice touch considering that it may take a while before the trio re-assembles — if at all. Aside from that, it's also reminiscent of his first homemade suit, the one that he wore during his final fight against Vulture (Michael Keaton) in Spider-Man: Homecoming, primarily because of its colorway. But arguably, seeing the young hero actually sewing it together was what makes this new ensemble so much more special. Much has been said about Spider-Man getting high-tech suits from Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), which made sense considering their relationship. But, now that Tony Stark is gone and Peter is on his own, Marvel Studios and Sony get the chance the showcase his genius and ingenuity.

With Spider-Man 4 in active development, it's curious if fans will see Peter wear this suit more moving forward. In an effort to push merchandise and toy sales, superheroes tend to get new costumes every time they appear in a different movie. But since this one was barely in Spider-Man: No Way Home, perhaps Marvel Studios and Sony can carry it over to Peter's next adventure — whenever that may be.
