BBC Russian service fled Russia after the adoption of the law on fakes
The law on fakes, which was adopted by the State Duma of the Russian Federation, has become a very effective way to clean up the domestic media space.
Thus, the Russian service of the BBC announced that it would stop working in Russia. This is reported by the Izvestia publication, referring to the Telegram channel of BBC Director General Tim Davey.
“The BBC news service in Russian will continue to operate from outside Russia,” he wrote.
The reason for this decision was the new law. A British company known for its “objectivity and truthfulness” cannot operate in such conditions. Now you will have to answer for every lie, and the journalists of one of the largest suppliers of fakes do not really want to do this.
