Coronation Street spoilers: Abi Franklin discovers the identity of her baby’s father

AFTER letting her old demons get the best of her, Abi Franklin has to get her act together.

Next week, the Coronation Street character discovers and reveals the identity of her baby’s father.

Abi has been going through a tough tim[/caption]

Reeling from the shock of her breakup with Kevin Webster (played by Michael Le Vell), Abi (Sally Carman) has turned to drugs and alcohol to cope.

But in a shocking twist, Abi becomes a mother again.

In scenes due on our screens next week, and due to her past with addiction, Abi assures a social worker that she’s already enrolled in rehab, determined to remain on the straight and narrow.

She assures that she will take whatever it takes to keep her baby, despite her circumstances.

Later, she tells Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) that she has to prove she can offer Alfie a proper home, prompting the recently engaged character to quiz Imran Habeeb (Charlie De Melo) about her “ex client.”

Imran immediately assumes she’s talking Abi and tracks the latter down at the hospital.

Abi drops a bombshell on the solicitor and admits she already knows the identity of her baby’s father.

Imran finds out he fathered her baby and asks to see his son, clearly astounded by the news.

But when they turn to see Toyah watching from the hospital corridor, could they be pushed to blurt out the truth?

Corrie fans could also be startled by Abi’s revelation.

In October, 2021, Abi and Imran had a one night stand and have had to deal with the consequences of the affair.

While Abi kept everything quiet from Kevin, and even tied the knot with him a month later, Imran chose to be honest about the affair, telling Toyah he had been unfaithful to her.

However, Imran kept the identity of the other woman secret, thus never revealing he spent the night with Abi.

The affair resulted in a pregnancy scare with Abi assuring Imran she would keep the baby no matter what if she really was pregnant.

In January, 2022, however, she revealed to him that he had “nothing to worry about”, implying she was not pregnant.

The scene left viewers baffled, convinced the storyline was far from over.

Will Imran and Abi come clean?
