Walmart to create 600 jobs in Pennsylvania with new facility

Walmart Inc. said Tuesday that it will open a fulfillment center in Shippensburg, Pa. in spring 2022, creating up to 600 permanent, full-time jobs in southern Pennsylvania. The 1.8 million-square-foot facility will pack and ship orders directly to customers. In the fourth-quarter, Walmart's e-commerce business was up 70% versus the same period two years ago. Walmart stock is up 10.5% over the past year while the Dow Jones Industrial Average has gained 3.4% for the period.
