Vicar sacked for carrying out a baptism in his boxer shorts
A VICAR has been sacked for carrying out a baptism in his boxer shorts.
The Rev Clive Evans shocked a family with his antics in their home.
A relative said: “Clive started to remove his shirt which I thought was fair enough seeing as he didn’t want to get it wet.
“However when he started taking off his shorts I was shocked and thought why is he undressing completely?”
Mr Evans, 62, of St Peter’s in Bromyard, Herefordshire, was also accused of patting a girl and woman on their bums in incidents 13 months apart. He denied all charges.
Police investigated for 18 months but no charges were brought.
But a church court found him guilty on a balance of probabilities.
He has been banned from the Church of England for six months and must leave his parish.

A tribunal document said: “There was no extreme urgency which might conceivably be imagined to justify semi-nakedness and public display of underwear.”
The Bishop of Hereford, the Rt Revd Richard Jackson, said: “We will be keeping all those affected in our prayers.”
