Those who enjoy laughing at Sonja Morgan on The Real Housewives of New York will be delighted to learn this fan-favorite is taking her jokes on the road. Morgan is a long-time member of the RHONY cast as one of the most beloved housewives with a seize the day lifestyle and attitude. Morgan made her RHONY debut in 2010 during the Bravo series’ third season and has continued through the most recent 13th season that premiered in the summer of 2021.
While RHONY has often been a forerunner in popularity for the Real Housewives franchise, the 13th season was particularly difficult for viewers. Despite the series’ tradition of having a reunion with all the housewives discussing the show, the latest season’s reunion was canceled due to scheduling issues. Season 13 of RHONY struggled partially because filming occurred during the height of the pandemic. Viewers also took issue with how some castmates fought over racial tensions in America occurring around the same time. Regardless of plummeting views and chaotic clashes, Morgan exited the latest season unscathed as she continues pursuits outside of the Bravo series.
According to Variety, Morgan’s latest adventure will be pursuing a comedy career. The RHONY star has been signed by United Talent Agency for a nine-city comedy tour. Morgan’s new show “Sonja in Your City” is scheduled to begin this Spring, with ticketing on sale on March 8. The show isn’t the first time Morgan has graced the stage, she’s performed during many of the more theatric episodes of RHONY. While Morgan might be no stranger to putting on a show, the nine-city tour will be one of Morgan’s most ambitious opportunities yet.
According to UTA, “Sonja in Your City” will be a variety show including songs, sketches, and improv comedy. The show lineup will also boast local drag performers and stand-up comedians. The variety show style will be unique to each city as Morgan highlights local talent along her way. Morgan first premiered the show at the NYC-based club Asylum NYC in September 2021 and after positive reception was produced by the club owner’s company, Improv Asylum. Morgan is set to perform this exciting new show in nine cities in six states, including Ohio, Indiana, Texas, New York, New Jersey, and Georgia beginning April 29.
Move over De Lesseps, it appears that another RHONY star is about to be in the spotlight. Now, RHONY has not one but two touring performers in the cast. Morgan has always enjoyed making her costars laugh, always determined to make the best out of any negative situation. While RHONY production is paused as producers troubleshoot the series’ ratings and reviews, now might be a better time than ever for Morgan to flaunt her strengths while making audiences laugh around the country. Bravo fans that are itching for the 14th season should consider grabbing tickets to “Sonja in Your City” if they want to satiate that Real Housewives of New York craving soon.
