Hulk Wields Mjolnir In Ultimate Thor Battle To Determine Who’s Stronger

The Banner of War crossover is coming to Marvel Comics and in a new image promoting the event, the Hulk wields Thor's hammer Mjolnir as he takes down his fellow hero. The five-part series will determine once and for all which hero, the Hulk or Thor, is stronger, as the brutes will duke it out in a story that's set to smash the Marvel Universe. In a new cover from Gary Frank, Hulk wields Mjolnir as he stands over a defeated God of Thunder.
The new crossover event from Marvel Comics is the brainchild of Donny Cates, the current writer for both Hulk and Thor's ongoing series. In April, the two Marvel mega-powered heroes will collide like never before in a battle to decide which Avenger is stronger. Cates will be joined by artist Martin Coccolo, as the crossover will take place over three different titles that all connect. The Banner of War event will feature covers by superstar artist Gary Frank - and on the front of Thor #26, readers will see the unexpected as Hulk wields Mjolnir.
On Friday, Marvel Comics revealed new teasers for the upcoming Banner of War crossover that will decide who's stronger. In Thor #26 (part four of the event), the All-Father will become aware of the severity of Bruce Banner's situation with the Hulk and how it relates to the deadly incident in El Paso that caused a wedge between him and the Avengers. Additionally, the preview teases that after Iron Man interferences, something will occur that changes the heroes and the stakes of the battle between Hulk and Thor. What possibly could that be? Well, two newly revealed variant covers could tease what comes next. While the cover for Hulk #8 features Thor transforming into Hulk, Gary Frank's cover for Thor #26 shows Hulk wielding Mjolnir.
The solicit doesn't reveal what changes the heroes will face in the crossover, but are the covers from Gary Frank a tease of what's to come? Will their powers somehow be swapped courtesy of Iron Man's new abilities, leading to an all-new kind of battle between Thor and Hulk? Check out the full solicit for Thor #26 below.
