90 Day Fiancé: Mahogany Shades Mike For His Apology Amid IG Comeback
After mysteriously deactivating her Instagram, Mahogany Roca has seemingly returned with a new profile where she’s now shading 90 Day Fiancé co-star Mike Berk. In real life, Peruvian woman Mahogany looks nothing like the photos she posts on social media, so much so that her partner Ben Rathbun's family and friends wondered if she was a scammer in a potential catfish situation. Even after Mahogany’s grand reveal on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, no one can get over her obsession with face-altering filters. And it appears that Mike made fun of Mahogany’s editing endeavors by posting a meme about her right before she deleted her original Instagram page.
In the first week of March, Mahogany used her @mahogany_peru profile to post and delete a long message in which she called out Mike and her critics. A Reddit fan happened to take a screenshot of Mahogany’s shocking caption before it was taken down. “I want to congratulate Mike from 90 day fiancé for sending me a picture making fun of me. And besides that, thank all the comments of mockery,” Mahogany posted on Instagram. She confessed that her mental health was in shambles and she was having a panic attack. Mahogany reminded her critics that every photo of hers will always be her own “whether you like it or not, retouched or not.” She also addressed fans who were mocking her Peruvian accent and deducing whether she was even Latina.
A few days later, fans learned Mahogany was off Instagram. However, a new profile called @mahogany.90day was recently discovered which may belong to Mahogany. The first-ever photo on the page is a selfie of Ben and Mahogany that Ben had posted on his own Instagram before shutting it down. But what’s also eye-catching is the profile highlight section that features a screenshot of a message it has apparently received from reality TV star Mike. It reads, “Mahogany I want to apologize for the meme that I shared on your old account… Ximena is really dragging me bad,” and shows Mike’s profile photo with his name. The page owner, if it is Mahogany, captioned the screenshot with, "So if not for @ximena_90day you don’t apologize Mike?”
Then there is a second screenshot that shows completely different DMs supposedly sent by Mike. "Hola! Nuevo Cuenta?” says the first message, followed with, “I am sorry for the meme that I reshared.” In this highlight, Mahogany questioned Mike by saying, “Unsent and changed your apology?” The caption also has Mahogany admitting that her mental health has not been good. “I come back [to] Instagram and everyone [is] still [a] bully,” says the rest of the post. The page has a lot of critical comments for Mahogany from the show's viewers, even though it seems to have started five days ago. “Omg please stop using all the filters. The whole world knows you look NOTHING like this,” and “Oh hey, how about you use your actual face in pictures?” say some of the rude reactions on a selfie of Mahogany.
While Mahogany making a new page and getting dragged for using filters all over again is shocking in this case, there’s something else that does not add up. Fans have been reading reports about Mike and Ximena’s breakup, with the Colombian woman also having allegedly accused the New Yorker of abusing her and lying about meeting on Tinder when they met on a webcam site. If Mike and Ximena are no longer together, does it make sense for her to ask Mike to apologize to Mahogany? Neither Mike nor Ximena have responded to the Mahogany profile’s callouts, which suggests this is a 90 Day Fiancé mystery that might never get solved.
