Oben Electric has launched an electric bike Rorr in India. The new e-bike has been priced at Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom Maharashtra). Oben has also claimed that the bike will be able to provide a range of up to 200 km on a single charge. These two figures alone are bound to attract Indian buyers to the new Oben Rorr electric bike.
Availability
Oben Electric claims that the new bike is completely built in India right from design and development to manufacturing. Pre-bookings for Rorr have already begun online today. Online bookings are open and consumers can pre-book Rorr for ₹999. They can also check their eligibility for government exemptions, financing, and insurance options on the e-AMRIT portal of Niti-Aayog before buying the vehicle. Buyers can opt from three colour variants.

The bike will cost different in different states. Check the price list announced by the company after state-wise subsidy:
Delhi: Rs 94,999
Maharashtra: Rs 99,999
Gujarat: Rs 1,04,999
Rajasthan: Rs 1,14,999
Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana: Rs 1,24,999
Battery and Range
Oben says the bike is “less engine and more engineering”. It can reach an acceleration of 0-40 in 3 seconds. It offers a top speed of 100 kmph. The claimed charging time is 2 hours. The company claims that in ideal driving conditions (IDC), the bike will be able to provide a 200 km range.
Features
The Oben Rorr has interactive connected vehicle features such as predictive maintenance, ride details, battery status, geo-fencing, geo-tagging, battery theft protection, charging station locator, on-demand service, and roadside assistance. Riders will also get Combined Braking System and Driver Alert System that provides visual and auditory cues, indicating when the vehicle is ON, stationary, or requires maintenance.
Oben Electric will follow the hub-and-spoke model for making spare parts available on time, along with doorstep servicing for a faster resolution.
Manufacturing
Oben Electric’s has a new manufacturing facility in Electronic City, Bengaluru. The company claims it will soon begin its operations and production. According to a statement from the company, the plant is equipped to meet an initial capacity of 3 lakh units per year.
Adding to this, Ms. Madhumita Agrawal, Co-Founder & CEO, said “Moving ahead, we will also be following a stable yet steady approach in expanding to newer markets without compromising on after-sales support, service, and expectations of our customers. We are keen on expanding to Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and more cities in Karnataka in Q2, 2022”.
