Child And Civilians Wounded Due To Discords Between Ankara’s Factions In Ras al-Ayn
Written by Khaled Iskef
Many civilians, including a child, got wounded due to clashes that broke out in the countryside of Ras al-Ayn in northwestern Al-Hasakah.
A local source reported that a number of injuries were caused by stray bullets in Tel Arqam because of confrontations between Turkish-backed factions in Ras al-Ayn countryside.
The source clarified that the clashes took place between “al-Hamzah” and “Shuhada’ Bader” factions on the one hand, and “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” and “Division 20” on the other, over defections and forming new formations.
Sources also clarified that the discord among the factions took place due to the decrease of the financial and logistic support that affected some of them, because of the lack of aid received from Turkey. The source added that similar clashes occurred in the al-Kana’es neighborhood in Ras al-Ayn town between “al-Hamzah”, “Division 20”, and “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” factions because of the defection of some factions from them.
Sources pointed out that on 12 March, the militants of “Shuhada’ Bader” and “al-Hamzah” expelled the militants of “al-Qa’qa’” faction from the al-Mukhtala village after besieging it for 2 days due to the defection of “al-Qa’qa’” militants from “Shuhada’ Bader” over the decrease of the financial support to them.
The fighting cases between Ankara’s factions frequently occur in various areas in Syria’s north making civilians pay the highest price for that as the clashes break out in residential areas.
