[UHV] Head Coach Terry Puhl To Retire

After 15 seasons guiding the University of Houston-Victoria Jaguars baseball team, head coach Terry Puhl has announced his retirement effective at the end of June.

Puhl spent 15 years in the Major Leagues, 14 with the Houston Astros, and was hired as the first head coach of any sport in Jaguars history in fall 2006.  His hire immediately brought credibility and legitimacy to the new athletics department and baseball program.

In his first season in 2008, the Jags went 28-5 and were not invited to the NAIA Regional tournament despite beating most of the teams in the Red River Athletic Conference.
