[Softball] Medina Takes Down CMS Athenas in Doubleheader Split

SANTEE, Calif. – Yet another inspiring performance from Amaryssa Medina helped the San Diego Christian College Hawks softball team split with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Monday. The senior pitcher earned the 2-1 win in game one, but the team fell 1-10 in game two.

GAME 1
Two runs are generally enough support for senior pitcher, Amaryssa Medina to get a win. This was the case against the Athenas.

A first-inning RBI single by Emily Lonetree and a third-inning single by Alicia Corona plated all the runs SDCC would need.

Medina would toss 6 straight shutout innings before yielding a single run in the top of the seventh.

GAME 2

Alicia Corona's 3-for-3 game two was not enough to help the Hawks overcome an early deficit.

The game would end in favor of CMS after five innings with a 1-10 run rule.

The Hawks host the Menlo College Oaks on Friday, March 18, and the William Jessup Warriors on Saturday, March 19 at the Santee Sportsplex. First pitch is at noon on both days.
