Jellystone! Season 2 Clip: Yogi Catches Some Waves [EXCLUSIVE]
Hang on to your pic-a-nic baskets, because Screen Rant has an exclusive clip from season 2 of Jellystone! The HBO Max series follows the classic Hanna-Barbera characters as they inhabit the quaint little community of Jellystone, though it's far from an average town. Yogi Bear, Cindy Bear, and Boo Boo are the medical staff at Jellystone Hospital, Jabberjaw is hungry for a promotion at Magilla Gorilla’s swanky clothing shop, El Kabong fights crime, Doggie Daddy is a lighthouse keeper who takes helicopter parenting of Augie Doggie to new heights, Top Cat runs the streets and Huckleberry Hound sits as Jellystone's mayor.
The Max Original series, created by showrunner and executive producer C.H. Greenblatt (Chowder, Harvey Beaks), and produced by Sam Register (Looney Tunes Cartoons, Teen Titans Go!). Adam Middleton (Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?, Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz) reimagines famous cartoon characters for a modern family audience and introduces them to a new generation of fans. The series delves deep into the Hanna-Barbera collection in order to include as many well-known and obscure characters as possible, from Captain Caveman, to Johnny Quest, to the Banana Splits. Jellystone! premiered in July of 2021, and despite a few naysayers who initially scoffed at the character redesigns, Jellystone! has received very positive reviews, currently sitting at an 80% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Season 2 of Jellystone! premieres on March 17, and consists of 19 new episodes, in which fans can look forward to their favorite characters crossing paths in fun and ridiculous ways including, Augie, Shag, and Yakky accidentally turning everyone in Jellystone into babies and Yogi, Doggie Daddy, and Mildew Wolf teaming up to save the town. In this exclusive clip from the season 2 episode titled “The Sea Monster Of Jellystone Cove," Jabberjaw and Loopy De Loop dress up as sea monsters to get some space to themselves at the beach. This does not bode well for Yogi, who is trying to relax and catch some waves.
This isn't the first time that the classic Hanna-Barbera characters were brought together in a TV series. In 1977, ABC aired the animated series Scooby's All-Star Laff-A Lympics, which was a spoof of the networks' primetime series, Battle of the Network Stars. Scooby's All-Star Laff-A Lympics brought together characters from Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels, Speed Buggy and Dynomutt, Dog Wonder, The Yogi Bear Show, The Huckleberry Hound Show and The Quick Draw McGraw Show. That series was followed in 1978 by Yogi's Space Race, in which characters including Yogi Bear, Scare Bear, Huckleberry Hound race through the cosmos against characters from shows like The Buford Files and The Galloping Ghost.
The talented voice cast of Jellystone! includes Jeff Bergman as the voice of Yogi, C.H. Greenblatt as the voice of Doggie Daddy, Boo Boo, Peter Potamus, and Benny, Grace Helbig, the voice of Cindy Bear, Thomas Lennon, the voice of Top Cat, Ron Funches, the voice of Shag Rugg, and Paul F. Tompkins, the voice of Magilla Gorilla, just to name a few.
Jellystone! season 2 premieres on March 17 on HBO Max, with episodes available at a later date on Cartoon Network.
