Every Marvel Actor In The Adam Project | Screen Rant
In 2022, it would be hard to cast for a movie or series without nabbing at least one actor from one of the dozens of Marvel projects that have spawned in the past two decades. So it's no surprise the recent Netflix film The Adam Project was loaded with them. The actors range from those in MCU projects to Fox X-Men actors to actors who appeared in Marvel films before the MCU era.
The Adam Project is the latest Ryan Reynolds-led action-adventure project from Netflix, where Adam is a time traveler who travels into the past to work with his younger self, and his father, in order to save the future. The film is fun and family-friendly, but it is also emotional with some very personal themes. The film has been described as having a "Spielberg" nature to it, so fans of classic sci-fi adventures have something to look forward to with this one.
Zoe Saldana has been lucky enough to be a part of some of the biggest science fiction franchises of the 21st century, between Marvel, Star Trek, and Avatar. Her roles outside of these films are numerous, but few have earned the popularity as her main roles. The Adam Project is a change of pace, therefore, as a non-franchise movie for her that found some success.
The actress's role in the film isn't huge but offers some of the sci-fi action viewers have come to expect from her roles. From Neytiri to Uhura to Gamora and now to Laura, Zoe Saldana has provided sci-fi fans with some great powerful female roles. Viewers will see the star next in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and Avatar 2, both major installments expected to be great box office successes. Gamora, in particular, is one of Zoe Saldana's most badass roles.
Ruffalo is, of course, known for playing the Hulk in various Avengers and Thor projects, and he has a widespread portfolio of both film and some television roles. Ruffalo has had supporting roles in films like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Now You See Me, and the Oscar-winning Spotlight. The actor is very capable of serious roles but will often bring a light-hearted and sometimes silly tone to his films.
Ruffalo is one of the centerpieces of the film's emotional story arc, as Reynolds' character must reminisce about what it meant to be a child and how he was affected by his upbringing. The film has some very heartwarming moments between father and son, and Ruffalo's natural charisma adds a necessary paternal touch to them.
While technically not a part of the MCU, it would be a shame for Disney to not find a way to continue the Deadpool series, which produced some of the best R-rated superhero movies of all time. Reynold's resurgence in the role was lightning in a bottle and is likely the reason movies like The Adam Project are getting made. Ryan brings his common charisma and great sense of humor to each role, and this film is no exception.
Reynolds' career took off after Deadpool, with movies like Red Notice, Free Guy, 6 Underground, and The Hitman's Bodyguard often displaying a similar style of modern action and adventure. The actor is very popular, especially among younger audiences, many of whom are wondering when news will release regarding the future of Deadpool. Fans would love to see Reynolds have a future in the MCU. The character could have some great adventures alongside Tom Holland's Spider-Man or with future X-Men projects. The Deadpool films are some of Ryan Reynolds' best movies.
The actor has only played small roles in Deadpool as well as in The Adam Project. Wilkinson is a TV and film character actor with a long list of supporting roles. He has also been part of the cast for many CW shows, such as Riverdale and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
As previously stated, his role in The Adam Project is small, featuring him in a funny scene with Jennifer Garner and as her date as they return back to her house. The character is slyly made fun of by young Adam.
Jennifer Garner has had a very widespread career in both film and television. She rose to prominence from the TV series Alias, which landed her roles in the high-budget Marvel films, Daredevil and Elektra, where she starred as the titular character in the latter. She's yet to resurface in the MCU, but her role in these films cemented her as a Marvel alum, though not everyone considers them among the best Marvel comics-based movies.
The actress has recently taken mainly supporting roles, much like her part in The Adam Project, in movies like Love, Simon and Draft Day. Perhaps Multiverse of Madness will pave way for an Elektra cameo or even a return to the fold. The actress is very talented and takes on tons of new roles every year.
