Kylie Jenner Reveals Postpartum Struggles In Instagram Story
The Kardashians star Kylie Jenner got real with her Instagram followers about her post-partum struggles. The makeup mogul gave birth to her second son, Wolf Webster, on February 2nd and has remained pretty private since. Her pregnancy this time around was much more public than her last, which she kept a secret until she gave birth. The star announced her first daughter Stormi's birth in a YouTube video after months of speculation that she was expecting a child with boyfriend Travis Scott. However, during her second pregnancy, she decided to share the news with fans earlier on and let them in on her experience.
In late February, the mother of two was seen out for the first time since giving birth to her son Wolf. Kylie was out with mother Kris Jenner, dressed in all black, seemingly trying to remain under the radar. The star also recently sparked controversy with an old friend, Tammy Hembrow, over their shared baby name. The Australian influencer also has a son named Wolf and has suggested that Kylie stole the baby's name from her. However, Kylie seems unbothered by the accusations and is more focused on parenting her children and coping with her post-partum struggles.
While celebrities sometimes appear to make fast recoveries after birth, the Kylie Beauty founder wants her fans to know that everything is not always as it seems. Kylie shared on her Instagram story, "this experience for me personally has been a little harder than with my daughter." Post-partum has been affecting the reality star's mental, spiritual, and physical well-being. Luckily, the youngest Kardashian-Jenner has been reminding herself that she's human and she shouldn't be so hard on herself if she's feeling down.
Kylie shared that the reason she was posting the Instagram stories was that when she starts to reemerge in public, she knows it will seem like she's back to her usual self after giving birth. However, this is not the case. The mother admitted, "I didn't just want to get back to life without saying that because I think we can look on the internet — for other moms going through it right now — we can go on the internet, and it might look a lot easier for other people, and put the pressure on us, but it hasn't been easy for me." Kylie has been going easy on herself, getting up and going to her morning workouts, but not overworking herself either. She also reminded her followers of a crucial message, "It's OK not to be OK."
The Kardashian-Jenners have crafted a near-perfect image and are often accused of promoting unrealistic standards, so it's refreshing to see Kylie admit that not everything is as it seems. The star is certainly not alone, and having such a prominent public figure open up about her struggles will mean a lot to other mothers in similar situations. Kylie doesn't owe anyone an explanation, so it's clear her vulnerable Instagram confession was coming from a real place. While Kylie had not yet given birth during the filming for her new Hulu show, The Kardashians, she will likely be getting vulnerable again about her second pregnancy when the show airs.
