Joe Millionaire: Carolyn Claims Kurt Told Her He ‘Made A Huge Mistake’
Joe Millionaire fans were shocked when Kurt Sowers chose Amanda Pace over Carolyn Moore in the show's finale, but when things didn't work out, Kurt allegedly realized he made a huge mistake. Kurt and Carolyn had an immediate connection from the first episode of the series, and it seemed obvious that by the end of the season, Kurt would choose the Florida native. However, as time went on, the bachelor began exploring his options and sparked a bond with fellow contestant Amanda. Still, Kurt and Carolyn's chemistry was undeniable, so when he chose Amanda at the end, the contestant seemed caught off guard.
Throughout the season, one of Kurt's biggest concerns with Carolyn was his insecurities around her relationship with her ex-husband. While the contestant admitted her past relationship was toxic and abusive, she remains on good terms with her ex in order to co-parent their son. Kurt found it challenging to cope with the idea that the woman he was dating would remain in contact with her ex. In the end, he decided he would be happier with Amanda. However, the New York City-based entrepreneur confirmed after the finale that the two were not as compatible as they thought they were and ended up going their separate ways. Carolyn then teased on social media that she found out about their split long before the news broke because Kurt had already been messaging her on Instagram, seemingly trying to in her back.
The skincare company owner now says her comments were true, and Kurt admitted to her that he made a huge mistake by not choosing her in the finale. The contestant was a guest on the Reality Steve Podcast, where she spoke to the host about the season finale and how Kurt reached out to her again after his split from Amanda. When the podcast host asked if Kurt has reached out to Carolyn since he split from Amanda, the contestant promptly responded, "I would answer that with, is my name, Carolyn?" Suggesting the answer is an obvious yes. According to the 31-year-old, she knew exactly when Kurt and Amanda had broken up because he was immediately replying to her Instagram stories and sending her DMs. "He apologized for not picking me essentially," Carolyn explained. "And admitted that he made a huge mistake."
The contestant also confirmed that Kurt was very insecure about her relationship with her ex-husband and that she had to reassure him several times on the show that he didn't need to worry about it. While fans did not see this on the show, it matches up with Amanda's comments that Kurt has a lot of healing to do. However, after the interview with Carolyn, the host revealed that Kurt claimed on his Instagram story that he does not regret not choosing Carolyn, seemingly contradicting Carolyn's side of the story.
There's certainly a lot of he said she said going on, but if Amanda and Carolyn's comments mean anything, Kurt has a lot of work to do before he can handle an independent woman like either of the contestants. The Joe Millionaire bachelor struggled throughout the series with knowing what he wanted. It seems likely he'd go running back to Carolyn when things didn't work out with Amanda, as he seemed addicted to her throughout the show. Luckily, Carolyn has other priorities in her personal life and career, so she's not too hung up on her former flame. If Kurt is serious about winning her back, he'll probably have to try a little harder.
