A sneaky cosplay recreates Black Cat, a beloved anti-hero from Marvel's Spider-Man and its DLC campaigns. Insomniac's version of the wall-crawling hero is joined by his iconic rogues gallery, which includes iconic villains like Doctor Octopus and Electro. After a side quest in the base game teased her arrival, the Marvel's Spider-Man DLC introduced Black Cat and quickly turned her into a fan-favorite part of Insomniac's universe.
Between Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, developer Insomniac has crafted a faithful and fascinating version of the beloved web-slinger's world. The open-world adventure depicts Peter Parker in his eighth year as the arachnid adventurer, having already established relationships with various allies and enemies across New York. During the game Spidey works closely with police captain Yuri Watanabe, with whom he has formed an uneasy alliance, and Black Cat is an even more turbulent ally that returns in the City That Never Sleeps DLC. While many of them are never even seen, Marvel's Spider-Man teases villains like Mysterio who have also encountered the friendly neighborhood hero in the past.
Now Reddit user justBiBs has crafted an authentic Black Cat cosplay as a tribute to Marvel's Spider-Man and its morally questionable feline. Pulled directly from her costume in the City That Never Sleeps DLC campaign, the master thief's attire comes complete with a stylishly stealthy jumpsuit and high-tech mask. By capturing every detail of Felicia Hardy's design, from her light blonde hair to her white-tipped gloves, justBiBs successfully springs the cat burglar out of Marvel's Spider-Man and into the real world.
Despite her great popularity, Black Cat's storyline in the Marvel's Spider-Man expansion is never definitively concluded. The anti-hero appears to die at the end of the Heist storyline, but she dramatically returns in the Silver Lining campaign in order to save Spider-Man from Hammerhead. Her whereabouts after this scene are never specified, leaving many fans hoping to see Black Cat in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. However, the upcoming sequel has already teased or outright confirmed the appearance of other massive threats like Venom, Kraven the Hunter and The Lizard. However, the morally ambiguous Black Cat could potentially appear as a playable character with a playstyle emphasizing stealth and trickery.
