Love & Hip Hop: Ty Young Announces She’s No Longer Engaged To Mimi Faust
Ty Young, retired WNBA star, and Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star Mimi Faust have announced that they are no longer engaged as a recent video has shown Young spending time with another woman. Faust and Young started dating in 2016 and got engaged in 2020. Young was hoping to propose to Faust since 2019, but minor issues prolonged the proposal date. In March 2021, just a year after the two had gotten engaged, it was announced to the public that the engagement was called off. Faust revealed to fans that the engagement ended because the two had naturally grown apart.
The relationship had lacked communication skills, and both parties needed to work on themselves to make the relationship successful. Additionally, Faust admitted that she did not want to be engaged or get married which had also caused a bit of tension between her and Young. There was no sign of infidelity during the couple's first engagement, but a month after it was announced that the two were no longer engaged, Young was seen out with another woman. An image of Young and the new woman was posted on social media, and Faust made a comment wishing the two happiness because she felt as though Young had deserved it; this was the first time Faust knew about the woman captured in the image with Young. Shortly after this debacle, the couple reunited, and in January, at Faust's 50th birthday party, Young proposed to Faust, and all seemed well between the two.
The relationship continued to be going well, and Faust would often share images or videos of her fiance to her Instagram page but on March 15, a video clip of Young and another woman were posted to various social media outlets. In the video, the woman's arm can be seen around Young's waist. Once the image was posted, Faust posted an image to her Instagram page that said, "Breathe and remember who the f*** you are," with the caption "Enough Said… ????." Once the video was shared, it was speculated that Young was cheating, but according to Monster and Critics, Young stated that her actions could not be considered as cheating as she is single. Young said, "...you can't cheat when you're single and I guess you can't have friends either." This message from Young was posted to a famous social media page to which Faust commented. In her comment, Faust spoke about having passion and action to follow any verbal plan of moving forward. At the end of her comment, she said, "In saying this I want to make sure that I wish Ty the best. Remember, we all grow and that is ok. It's also ok to grow apart. Just respect each other in the process."
The most confusing part of the end of this engagement for fans is that the couple were seemingly doing well not so long ago. On March 9, Faust posted several images of Young and herself and declared Young her Women Crush Wednesday. Even further, since their second engagement was announced, Faust had shared several images with her and Young, and one time, she shared a video that showcased Young's basketball skills. Young has not shared any image of Faust since Valentine's Day. The woman Young was pictured with is Dijonae Carrington, who is also an American basketball player who plays for the Connecticut Sun. Carrington has not released any statements since the surfacing of the video, but she commented on Young's most recent comment. On Young's part, though there have not been any comments on Carrington's recent Instagram photos. But on March 3, Young commented, "Oh it's giving pressure ???????? pushing ????️," on a picture Carrington posted to which she replied, "pushin pqrstuvwxy&z , pooh." At this point, all was supposedly still well between Faust and Young.
Since the previously mentioned statements, neither of the involved parties have provided further information about the Faust-Young relationship and why it ended so suddenly. Though the two have been silent about the situation, they have both been sharing quotes on their Instagram stories. One notable one from Young says, "Be so solid that they lose credibility when trying to throw dirt on you." For Faust, her quote said, "Don't be afraid to start all over again. You may like your new story better." Faust is also selling t-shirts with several different phrases, one of which includes "Trust vs. Loyalty." Anyone invested in updates on this relationship will not be able to receive any updates from Love & Hip Hop Atlanta as Faust has not appeared on the show since season 9.
