RHOA: Kandi Blasts NeNe For Allegedly Snubbing Her Spin-Off
Kandi Burruss is calling out The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum NeNe Leakes after learning of the alleged shade she threw at her new spin-off. NeNe hasn't had anything nice to say amid the premiere of Kandi & The Gang. The new show follows Kandi and her staff of family and young workers at her OLG restaurant. But with NeNe and Kandi ending off on a bad note, the two haven't mended their broken friendship. Kandi recently blasted NeNe for allegedly spewing out a racial slur when speaking on the singer's good standing with the Bravo network.
NeNe has maintained very few friendships since leaving RHOA in 2020. She was the longest reigning OG on the show at the time of her departure. Shortly after her exit, NeNe launched a boycott against Bravo accusing the network of racism and discrimination. Once NeNe was out, Kandi became the longest-lasting veteran on the popular franchise ahead of Cynthia Bailey. With Kandi having a number of spin-off specials under her belt, she put in the work to secure a show following her family-run soul food restaurant. But considering NeNe's views on Bravo and her broken friendship with Kandi, the OG has been throwing subtle shade at the Xscape singer.
Kandi recently gave an update on her feud with NeNe and called out the alleged racial slur said about her. “I don’t know what her problem is with me," Kandi said on TMZ’s It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper podcast. "I’ve seen her say all kinds of stuff,” she added. NeNe is known for throwing even more shade online than she does in person. The last time she interacted with Kandi was during a messy fight on social media. With the tension between them carrying on, Kandi revealed the alleged slur NeNe said about her new show, “This right here pissed me the f–k off … when she said somewhere calling me a ‘c–n’ or something,” Kandi claimed.
Kandi said she has no interest in "wasting time" trying to maintain a friendship with NeNe. The "No Scrubs" songwriter even insinuated that NeNe might be jealous of Kandi's good relationship with Bravo. "I think she was having her own issues with the network, right?" Kandi asked, before noting how "public" NeNe made her quarrels with Bravo. "But I don’t know if because I have a better relationship with them she had negative things to say about me," Kandi said. NeNe has managed to maintain friendships with Porsha Williams and Marlo Hampton since her exit. NeNe is also friendly with Cynthia Bailey's ex-husband Peter Thomas.
The OG has gone on to open her lounge The Linnethia which could've been a hit spin-off on Bravo if NeNe didn't accuse the network of being racist. The Real Housewives of Atlanta haven't been the same since her departure. But Kandi has teased all the drama coming in season 14 now that Marlo is full-time and Sheree Whitfield returned to be the reigning OG. NeNe could have some bitter feelings seeing her former friends continue to thrive on the franchise she helped build. To go from being the highest-paid housewife to an angry alum can't be easy.
