UFC London: Watch Molly McCann score insane KO of the Year contender over Carolina with sickening spinning back elbow
MOLLY MCANN blew the roof off the O2 Arena with a KO of the Year contender against Luana Carolina.
Flyweight standout McCann – who made history by becoming the first English woman to compete on a UFC main card – flatlined her Brazilian opponent with a stunning spinning-back elbow in the third round.
After being caught in a one-arm collar tie, McCann tried her luck with a hellacious elbow.
That beautiful, but risky, Muay Thai technique paid off big time as she flatlined Carolina to earn the first stoppage victory of her octagon career.
Overcome with emotion, McCann leapt over the cage to celebrate with her overjoyed Next Generation team-mates.
She then leapt the area where UFC president Dana White was seated.

And when she re-emerged, she came out parading a UFC belt.
From the moment the fight began, a fired-up McCann didn’t give Carolina an inch to breathe – closing the distance and throwing punches in bunches.
The proud Evertonian appeared to have her opponent hurt on a couple of occasions but was unable to land the telling blow.
Carolina eventually weathered the storm and managed to stifle the McCann blitzes with her grappling.

The range of Carolina proved to be a problem for McCann in the second – which she ended by hoisting the Brazilian in the air and performing a WWE-esque back-body drop.
And the highlight moment of her career came a minute and 52 seconds into the third stanza when she spun for the fences and flatlined Carlonia with an elbow that will be replayed for years to come.
