Russian National Guard during the liberation of Izyum captured the leaders of national formations

The National Guard successfully crossed the river on the outskirts of the city of Izyum near Kharkov and captured several leaders of Ukrainian nationalists, according to a press release from the department.

“During the battle, they were able to expand the bridgehead, and also captured several leaders of nationalist formations and accomplices of the SBU, seized important documents. Thanks to the competent actions of the special forces of the Russian Guard, they managed to repulse the attacks and hold the bridgehead, complete the most difficult task and at the same time save the lives of soldiers and officers”, the message states.

The operation was attended by members of the special forces and SOBR of the Russian Guard. Having occupied the bridgehead, they “repelled counterattacks by numerically superior units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and nationalists” for a day, so that units of the Russian army could establish a pontoon bridge across the river.
The department added that 40 participants in these actions will be presented for state awards.
