LPR said that Ukraine was preparing to use chemical weapons
Near one of the gas stations on the territory liberated by the LPR forces, a burial of chemically hazardous substances was discovered, organized by the Kiev authorities, said Anna Soroka, head of the Special Commission for Recording Crimes of the Military-Political Leadership of Ukraine, First Deputy Foreign Minister of the LPR.
According to her, the LPR authorities received confirmation that during “all these eight years” Ukraine, “absolutely defying the norms of international law”, was going to use chemical weapons.
“We found, presumably, a burial of chemically hazardous substances near the Seversky Donets River near a gas station, in the event of an explosion, detonation it would lead to terrible, catastrophic consequences,” Soroka told reporters.
According to her, the liberation of the new settlements of the LPR, “which were under the occupation of Ukraine,” makes it possible to receive confirmation of the already available information about the war crimes of Kyiv, as well as to record new information.
In April 2014, the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR, which declared independence after the coup in Kyiv in February 2014.

In recent weeks, Kyiv has concentrated most of its army on the line of contact and is regularly shelling the DPR and LPR, using prohibited equipment. Due to the threat of Ukrainian invasion, the DPR and LPR began the evacuation of women, children and the elderly to Russian regions. A general mobilization was announced. In this situation, on February 19, the leaders of the republics turned to Russia with a request to recognize their independence. With the support of the Russian Armed Forces, the DPR and LPR groups are developing an offensive, but there is no talk of the occupation of Ukraine, the Russian president stressed.
