Activities of a number of opposition parties suspended in Ukraine
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that during the period of martial law in the country, the activities of some opposition parties would be suspended.
“The National Security Council of Ukraine decided, given the ties of some political structures with Russia, to suspend any activity of a number of political parties for the duration of martial law. Namely: “Opposition platform – For life”; “Party of Sharia”; “Our”; “Opposition bloc”; “Left Opposition”; “Union of Left Forces”; “Power”; “Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine”; “Socialist Party of Ukraine”; “Socialists”; “Vladimir Saldo’s block,” Zelensky said during a video message.
According to the Ukrainian president, the Ministry of Justice was instructed to urgently take comprehensive measures to ban the activities of these political parties. Any activity of politicians aimed at “split or collaboration” will not be successful, but will receive a harsh response, Zelensky concluded.
